there are some good league games coming up!

Park National –
Pub vs. Angels
Lakers vs. Patriots

Riverview –
Minnetonka vs. Bloomington
Hopkins vs. Park

St. Paul –
Capitals vs. Sport and Spine Diesel
Shamrocks vs. Blue Package

Skyline –
Stockmen’s vs. FanHQ

Goodbye to the Metro Knight bandwagon. They got beaten up twice in a row, first by East Bethel 11-1 and then Stockmen’s 15-2.

Agreed. The Knights look to be struggling - and may no longer be the sexy pick of 2012. I browsed over to the Knights website to see how the game went down and it looks like it was 8-2 going into the 7th when they got blown up in the last inning. Maybe Dan Miller got to hit for everyone in the 7th? Blue Package is now my official sleeper pick now that the Knights are done. I am officially on their bandwagon. Followed by FanHQ as my second sleeper pick (they made some good trades in the off season and picked up some good hitters).

Does anybody else get the feeling that the Park National is going to have a scenario the same as last season in the St. Paul league? St. Paul League saw the Shamrocks have a down year, then get hot (or get their guys all together) and took out the league champion Capitals. Could this happen with Lyons Pub in the P Nash this season?

My crystal ball says highly likely ...

Oh and the Metro Knight bandwagon isn't losing people, it crashed due to three completely blown out wheels and is creaking a long slowly on the last one. A Hole is right ... jump off quick before that last wheel goes kaplooey!

Blue Package is the official forum sexy pick of 2012. Not only do they have a sexually charged name, but they are playing good baseball which by definition = sexy. The St. Paul league is going to be a tough league to crack this year though with Capitals, Shamrockers and Big Daddy Cool Diesel. Does anybody know of a website for the Blue Packages?

Finally, Skyline. After Stockmen's, what is happening here? A Hole likes FanHQ, I do too. Whats left? Tri City made the tourney last season so I guess they get the nod. Who else?

So, question for all... where did "diesel" come from ? Thought it was Sport & Spine Chiropractic?

I'm still taking TC Saints sleeper. They're waiting for the right time to pounce.

Other than those two mentioned from Skyline don't really know who's going to be good.

St. Paul should be tough looks like most teams have moved pieces around, including those traditionally at the top.

P-Nash....Cluster. Pub needs to figure it out. Looks like there's some inconsistency in that league. Will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Riverview... I suppose the only discussion is who will take the three seed. But Bandits and Berries seem like the two who can make the strongest case. Haven't checked results from Tonka/Bandits game but I'm sure that would be interesting

It seems to be shaping up as interesting summer. With Pub off to a slow start, we could see any one of 4 or 5 teams (including Pub) fill the void. The compact playoff schedule in the P-Nash means there's no guarantee a team will force their way into the playoffs like the Shamrock did last year. Pub deserves the benefit of the doubt for now. Check back in a few weeks, and if they are still at the bottom of the standings, then maybe it's time to start worrying.

St. Paul is another tough league to figure out. How many different teams have made the state tournament the last few years? I keep hearing from people who have already played Blue Package that they have a lot more pitching depth than last year. But will that actually translate into Wins? Either way, it sure seems like there's a lot of parity in the SPL. And that's a good thing you hate to see a league with 1 or 2 good teams and a bunch of punching bags. Who wants a bunch of mercy rule games?

Which brings us to the Riverview and Skyline. Yeah, Tonka and Park obviously. I like Bloomington for the 3rd spot. I think they learned a lot from last year and it's already showing on the field this season. They've got a good core of young guys and room to grow.

Over in the Skyline, there is Stockmen's and... and... Hmm, I'm pretty sure there are other teams in that league. Right, St. Anthony... all pitching, no sticks. I think poptarts was the only one on the Knights bandwagon. Really, it's hard to make predictions about most teams without actually seeing them play. You never really know who's added what pieces, and if they are any good or if it's just hype.

Someone mentioned FanHQ. From what I remember, they were a solid club. Made the tournament a few years ago as Moe's. They were doing great until Air Freight slapped a delivery sticker on a few baseballs and overnighted them onto I-94.

Not sure how many of the same guys are with FanHQ/Moe's/whatever, but they had a large contingent of Scholastica players. I just checked their latest box score, and it looks like they've got 1B Claugherty back in their lineup. That dude is a beast. If he played his home games in that bandbox in South St. Paul the Irish call home, he'd probably have 6 or 7 homeruns already.

As for the name Sport & Spine Diesel, our second sponsor is a fuel distribution company.

Here an honest question for you to ponder....At which point does Stockmens decide to fold it up and join the St. Paul League? You know when a league is struggling to field teams when the METRO KNIGHTS begin the season 2-0 in league play and people actually think they are any good....

I traveled to watch the Loggers last week and almost threw up my Culvers Deluxe Double Butter Burger all over myself watching them attempt to field a baseball....it was disgusting...

FanHQ will likely be the 2 or even 1 coming out of the Skyline if Stockmens doesn't figure out their middle relief situation soon. They can't throw strikes, and for the unlucky souls that do, their pitches end up turning into skud missiles that threaten the safety of every man, woman, and child in the public pool in right field...Dominant closer Pat "Yea I Shove" Gornick is out 2-3 weeks with a torn labia...I know what I said....

After FanHQ and Stockmens it's all up for grabs for that 3 seed and the inevitable 2 and BBQ in state.

Dear Skyline League,
Get on our level.....
Politely and respectfully yours,
Park National, St. Paul and Riverview Leagues.

Why would Stockmen's do that when a top-3 finish in the league guaranteed a state berth each year? Especially considering they won the state title with the same exact competition?

I'd say beef up the non-league schedule rather than switch leagues (if I were in Stockmen's place and all that worried), but that's just me. I don't think they're too worried about it, though.

Here is another question to ponder. Is it only the lowly Skyline that has a team go 2 and out, or do other teams from the super leagues also go "2 & BBQ"?
