As a parent of a Rockie player, I was extremely disheartened by last nights out come. Maybe if the opposing coach did not take so many time outs to argue calls we could've finished the game. If thats how he needs to win then so be it.
I give the coaches a high five for their time and effort for the TEAM. NOT THE LEAGUE.

Enrollment has been down for several years, now I know why. It's unfortunate because my kid loves the game as well as playin with his friends. We will be looking for a elsewhere in the spring.
The league made the wrong decision!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An Extremely disappointed parent

Kim,
I would hope that your son comes back to play at LFLC. I have been involved with this league for over 10 years since my oldest (now 17, I feel old!) played as tee ball player. I am currently an umpire in the league, Midget GM, and have an 8 y.o. in the league.

I will say the rule is what it is and if it was changed for the Rockies then it would have had to have been changed for the whole playoffs. Either way, someone gets hurt and it is not perfect. What if the rules were changed and then the Red Sox would lose then the same issue would come up because the rule was changed?

In softball, there is even a drop dead time limit in tournament play so that if a team gets ahead in top of the inning and it goes over the time limit, then it reverts back to previous inning which means the team that just went ahead would lose! Sounds crazy, right but it is a rule.

Bottom line, I know nothing I say here will asuage how you feel. We have always asked for parents to come up to general meetings so please do so. We want to hear the good and the bad to make things better. Without your input, we will march forth under the best we know how. Sorry for your frustration and would hope you reconsider.

I can tell you, although it does not help for this year, we have already been discussing alternatives for next year when this comes up again.

The "new" administration appears to be doing a much better job.

The former crew would have told you to hit the road and go to Merrill Park.

Give these guys a chance. They will listen to your complaint and try to fix it.
