| Another wild week around class a baseball.
1) Stockmen’s Irish (10-3) (7-0) 7-0 in Skyline and defending champs. Not moving for a while. 2) Bloomington Bandits (10-3) (2-0) Not much change from the Bandits. Big game with St. Louis Park tonight. 3) Minnetonka Millers (14-3-1) (1-1) Solid showing at the Victoria tournament by finishing second. Website likes to drill the Millers for not quite swinging the bats yet. 4) St. Louis Park (13-5) (2-1) Rebounded from a loss to Hopkins by pummeling Edina 14-4 and beating up on the Blue Sox. Big Riverview game with Bloomington tonight. 5) American Pie Patriots (9-5) (4-1) Finally lost a Park National game which was to the River Rats. Every team will lose a game they shouldn’t. 6) St. Paul Shamrocks (6-3) (4-1) Dropped a game with North End for their first league loss. North End made the tourney last year, so not a bad loss. Shammies will keep going. 7) Minneapolis Angels (7-5) (4-1) Good Park National record. Beat Hopkins in a close one. 8) FanHQ Fantoms (6-1) (3-1) Fantoms played the Skyline and State champs tight losing 7-5 in Skyline play. Beat everyone else so far. Looks to be the second best club in the Skyline this year. 9) St. Paul Capitals (7-8) (4-2) After a 5 game winning streak, the Caps followed it up with a 5 game losing streak, beginning with a league loss to Rosetown. Tough stretch for the Capitals. 10) Hopkins Berries (3-2) (2-0) Dropped a close game to the Angels.
Dropped: No teams dropped from the previous rankings. Capitals dropped from 2 down to 9 after a five game losing streak.
Next In: Blue Package (still sexy pick) because they are the sexy pick. Somebody mentioned a website for them, but it isn’t updated with scores so it’s pretty much pointless.
Random Thoughts: The Pub had another tough weekend almost going winless in Victoria, only to be saved by a struggling Capitals squad. Could this tournament win be the game that gives the Pub momentum? Lakers got thrashed by American Pie. It may be time for the Lake Show to hit the panick button in the Park National. Skyline league, looks like FanHQ is going to step up and take over behind Stockmen’s. Good for the Skyline league. Riverview and St. Paul leagues look pretty much normal. Riverview has Tonka, Park and Bloomington. St. Paul looks tough again with the Shamrock’s, Capitals and a swarm of others chasing the 3rd spot – although the Caps are struggling right now.
Predictions for each league (yes still way too early)
1) Park National = Patriots, Angels and Toss Up. Wow. How quickly things change. I still like Pub and Lakers for a variety of reasons, but this is the opening that the Cobras and perhaps the River Rats need to sneak into the state tournament. 2) Riverview = Minnetonka, Bloomington, St. Louis Park/Hopkins Same finish as 2011 and doesn’t look like it could change. Although with Bloomington beating Minnetonka early this season the order could still change (Don’t rule out Park from taking the title). 3) Skyline = Stockmen’s, FanHQ and Toss Up. Skyline is starting to mock the Park National in terms of standings for 2012. Two teams that look to be separating from the pack and a slew of other teams in the hunt. Could be a fantastic finish to the league play. 4) St. Paul = Capitals, Shamrocks and River Pirates/North End No change here even with the Caps taking a nose dive this week. Plenty of time to rebound. I did forget about North End and they offered a loud reminder that they are a team to reckon with after beating the Shamrock’s. Another possible fun finish.

| Updated PNASH Standings
We should have a much better picture as there are a ton of games before the 4th of July.
American Pie Patriots (4-1) - Dropped one to the Rats, Merchants, Pub, Cobras and Angels coming up. Minneapolis Angels (4-1) - Always tough, expect them to keep a top 3 spot. Minneapolis Cobras (3-1) - Playing well lately, 7-3 in their last 10. Rink returning this week should boost the offense. Minneapolis Lakers (2-1) - Lot's of questions here...missing some key pieces. Minneapolis River Rats (2-3) - Hit or miss, can certainly beat anyone (ask the Patriots) but can lose to anyone too. Lyon's Pub Warriors (2-5) - It's gotta turn around, sweeping out isn't out of the question. Need to do it to get a top 3 spot. Metro Merchants (1-3) - Playing much better than their league record. Improved squad. Minneapolis Blue Sox (0-3) - Haven't scored a run in league play yet.

| Poose Pow, thanks for the update. The Park National does look like an open league this year with the Pub and Lakers not having their normal seasons. Cobras have a great shot at taking advantage of this. Correction for Poptarts as well: looks like the Capitals are 8-7 not 7-8. Also, saw this today:

This is the Riverview league website. For all those that dislike or jump on the Skyline, the Skyline looks like they are doing the best against the Riverview this season at 3-2.

| Interesting start to the Riverview league play. Bloomington beats Minnetonka. Hopkins beats Park. Park beats Bloomington. This could be a fun year in the Riverview. Would be fun to see all four teams split the season series and have a massive tie at the top of the standings.
Hopkins and Minnetonka was rained out earlier in the season. So the makeup game plus the final game between those teams could be huge games.

| No love for Rosetown? They have started 3-0 in league beating S&S Vin Diesel's and the Capitals. They only have one league game every week thusfar which means they might only have one pitcher, but they are undefeated. The St Paul league looks good this year with as many as 7 of the 10 teams capable of making state.

| Rosetown is an intriguing ball club early in the year. I suppose poptarts could have had them in "Next In" or "Random Thoughts" .... but still a good job.

| I was kind of wondering if the AP Patriots were running on good karma or something, as they lost quite a few people. It seems as though they may be coming back to earth. 1-7 the Park Nash is a crap shoot. Makes the regular season almost meaningless since the Blue Sox will get eliminated before the state playoffs start. Whoever wins the league is still going to have to face a team that could beat them legitimately with no weird luck or Parade Stadium hops.

| Indeed the Park National is 7 deep and honestly all 7 teams are pretty equal. By far the deepest and most competetive league in Class A. Patriots are a solid club lost at least 5 quality every day players but added some as well. Lost two straight to the Rats and much improved Merchants team that could surprise a lot of people this season. That is my sleeper pick as I see a lot of people have Blue Package as theres. Should be a fun year in the P-Nash

| Pluff - I agree. I checked their website, and the problem is that they are .500 overall and lost to a Sunday metal bat league team.
I also agree about the non league games, but if Rosetown is winning their league games and are only playing 1 time per week it could mean that they have 1 dominate arm and that is a problem come playoff time.

| Come on down to the Stockmen's Irish Invitational this weekend. Rosetown plays the first two games in a doubleheader with the second game against St. Louis Park. It's always a fun tournament with great fans.
