| Conensus was that teams need to decide prior to tournament play if they are going to advance should they finish somewhere other than 1st or 2nd. Whether or not that will be a recomendation for future coaches or part of our bylaws will be determined this fall at our annual review. The team that did vote prior had no issues - they were still sad that their season ended but the focus was on the girls as it should be. The teams that voted immediately after 'elimination' realize that was not the way to handle things.
Hopefully everyone is now focused on repairing any relationships that may have been damaged due to comments or posts made in the heat of the moment - that's up to the individual obviously but for all our sakes we hope it happens.
Also clarifired was that no child can be punished or have a vote their parent made held against them in the future again a lot of things were said or taken out of context due to the timing of these votes. As with anything sometimes good people make bad decisions - cooler heads will prevail.
As they do every year, the board will review all coaches, bylaws and decisions made this year in an effort to improve our league for our children in the future.
The board has received many calls, texts, letters - this is a much better way to handle things. We definitely appreciate your input parents.
Finally and most importantly, we all want to wish our Shetland Girls much success as they travel to Nationals to compete and represent Medina Valley. Good luck ladies!
