I have sent out information on the 2012 State Tournament to:

Startribune
Pioneer Press
Mike Max Show
Joe Schmidt (KSTP Sports)
Kare 11
93x Radio

Please help us out by spreading the word now as the tournament is quickly approaching. Tells friends, family and coworkers about it. Be sure to get out to some games yourself too! It's a good time and the more people that show the better for Class A baseball.

Thanks BanditsBaseball. Way to take charge and help out Class A ball. Glad to see someone is taking some steps to help promote the tournament. Did you have any responses from these places?

Only response so far has been from Joe Schmidt. He said the tournament will be featured online and that they will try to get it on the local news.

We are also in the process of contacting a few local TV public access stations to gauge interest in showing some games on TV.

I have also now sent information to Eric Perkins at Kare11 and his radio show and KQRS.

If there are any more ideas please share.

A few other ideas:

- Contact FSN North
- Class A twitter account (can be used year round)
- Contact the guys running the B/C site, they have partnered with iScore for live stats (not sure on costs though)

Social media is a good (cheap) way to start to build a web presence and potentially drive up attendance as the more people are connected to the games & teams the more they are likely to come watch

MZarracina is spot on about increasing the social media presence. Setting up a Class A twitter account to allow for quick dissemination of scores and updates would generate increased traffic and in the long-term could be used to leverage greater engagement on the part of traditional media.

The iScore app is VERY cheap (about $10) for teams/leagues to operate, and fans can access it for free. The team from Dassel-Cokato uses it extensively to provide live feeds of their games, so you might consider reaching out to them (info@dcsaints.com) for the scoop on how to use it effectively.

Another avenue you might want to try is local college radio. If any of them are large enough to have a sports department and the equipment to do remote broadcasts, it might be possible to get some of the games on the air. The station I used to work for in Madison carried the Madison Mallards (Northwoods League) for a time. Summer schedules are usually pretty thin for college radio, and the chance to add live programming might be enough for someone to bite. Let me know if you'd like any help on reaching out to some of the college stations.
