IMPORTANT!!
***************

I want to stress that ALL 7:30am TEAMS MUST BE READY TO PLAY AT 7:30! You only get a 5 minute grace period before the game is a forfeit. You set the whole tournament back if this starts late. This will be STRICTLY enforced!

All other teams, please be at the field 30 MINUTES BEFORE your scheduled game, so that we're ready to roll asap, once the prior game ends.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation!!

Good luck to all 12 teams and I hope you all have a great time. Lets hope we have good weather!!

I was advised at the time I picked up the permit months ago, that the city would make the fields available for play when we got closer to the playoff date. That said, I am going to call the city on Monday (8/13) to remind them to have their guys cut the grasses and make the infields ready for play.

REMEMBER TO CLEAN UP ALL YOUR GARBAGE AT THE FIELD WHEN YOUR TEAM IS LEAVING!! Please DO NOT overfill the garbage cans at the field. Tie up your bags and leave them next to the can(s) if they are full.

I want to thank all the teams for you cooperation this season in making the league run smoothly and allowing me to keep this website updated for scores and standings as quickly as it is.

Mike, I assume you received my picture from Clairton yesterday? The back field is 100 times worse than 3 years ago when we played there and needs MAJOR work to even become playable. The only dirt is at home plate and the pitchers mound. The rest is literally a grass/weed mix. It's is in need of much more than a simple grass cutting and drag. It will need nail dragged/turned over several times. If they do little to no work on the back field we will not be able to use it as it is currently a huge saftey hazord & someone will either snap their ankle running or take a ball to the face. Not to mention those wonderful slabs of concrete/asphault/cinder in the OF I completely forgot about. The front field is playable but needs leveled out some and has weeds starting to grow.

In regard to the garbage clean-up, if they don't clean up the absurd amount of litter that is already down there then I suggest you get a photo of what it looks like before we start so they don't try to send you an additional bill.

Finally, the bases at the front field look fine but the back field looks really sort. I didn't measure them but they just don't look right. That said, it is kind of tough to tell just by looking due to the over abundance of grass which makes the infield 1/16 the size it normally would be.

To update Andrew's post above, I've been in contact with the city of Clairton and explained the work that needs done to make it playable. The lady I wanted to speak to, is out of the office until Wednesday. I left a message with another lady that took down what needed done.

Rob from Ryan's #2, has been a help to me in assisting this situation. He has also talked to the city and was assured that it will be ready for use by Saturday. He didn't want to cut the grass until later this week so that it would grow back and be somewhat high.

I sent the pictures that Andrew texted to me, to Rob so he knew the of the situation. Let's hope they keep their word.

I will keep you posted on improvements that are/were made.

On the 11th hour, it seems like I've been told from several players that checked the field, that the back field "grass infield" issue has been resolved pretty good.

I will drag the fields tomorrow before the 730 games to help smooth them out for us to play.

Rob Nystrom deserves a lot of credit for talking to the city workers, on my behalf, since I was in Myrtle Beach all week until late Friday. Andrew from Ugly Dog also helped keep me updated on the fields.

I might be the commissioner of the league, but it does take cooperation from several people to make things run smoothly. Frank has been helpful to me all season and it really helps me and means a lot to have help/imput from different guys along the way. Every season something seems to come up and every time there's been an effort from players in the league to help with the situations.

Thanks everyone, and good luck at the tournament.
