Keep in mind that the top 4 teams from each division make the championship side of the playoffs... even if you have more points than teams in the other division. Top 4 from each division and then best 2 point totals.

Race to the finish.

I’m predicting that the final playoff spot will come down to the 4th place finisher in the Gayman division, and right now it looks like a close battle between NVision and Roberts Group.

The NVision boys have a tough remaining schedule, including games against School, AHC, Harding, DST, & Jakes. Sorry to say, but that easily looks and feels like a 1-4 finish, which would get them to 25 points.

Roberts Group has games against games against Mariani’s, DST, and MAS. I can see them going 2-1 in those games, getting them to 24 points.

So it looks like NVision has a slight edge, but anything can happen.

Once again..top 4 from each division make the championship round, so don't go by what you see in the 2012 Playoff tab. That means this:

Kelseys is in the Conny since they have the lowest pts in the Toogood division and can't gain any ground. A Gayman team will automatically bump them out. Tar and DST are 2 of the gayman teams. Its a fight between Harding, NVision and Roberts for the 3rd and 4th gayman seed.

Duchess, MAS, Remax, Arms, & Active Health are in cause it looks like 27 pts will get you minimum the 10th spot. The battle for 3 of the 10 spots is between Nvision, Harding, Roberts & School. If Nvsion and Harding get in and School and Roberts both finish with 26, I don't know who wins the tie breaker.

Enough... I'm tired.

Conny Teams:
Unionville Pools
Crupi
Mariani's
Summit
Jakes
Wilson Law
Kelsey's
and one more

If Roberts loses tonight (against DST), the 10 Championship teams + the 8 Consolation teams will be decided. Then it's just a matter of playing for seeding.

Kelsey’s owns the tie-breaker against Roberts by virtue of their win on July 4.

Playoffs are almost here guys..! Redkel: it doesn't matter as Kelsey's has no way to make the round of 10. PP: I believe your comment and math are correct....if Roberts loses tonight, the top 10 and Connie 8 are set.

Actually, Harry is correct. I did not look deep enough. Roberts can indeed lose tonight, and still have a chance to make the playoffs.

If Roberts loses to DST but wins against MAS, and Harding loses their last 3 remaining games, they would be tied for the 10th playoff spot. Roberts would win on the 4th tie-breaker.

USPL Rule 26. For teams tied in a division at the end of the regular season, the tie-breaker formula is:

1. Head-to-head record (points) – Each will have 24 points.
2. Record (points) within the division – Each will have 18 Points within their division.
3. Record (points) against common opponents in other division – Each will have 6 Points against the other division.
4. Run differential in head-to-head games – Roberts is +12 in head to head.
5. Coin toss, unless tie is for last Championship place, in which case a 5-inning sudden death game will be played at the end of the regular season. - N/A

By the way, how dumb is tie-breaker #3?? Because, if two teams are tied for points in the overall standings, and then are also tied for points in their own division, then don’t HAVE to be also tied for points in the other division? We should look to change this.

Sorry, that should read:

1. Head-to-head record (points) – They split their 2 games.

If Roberts loses tonight then the School is in. Roberts still will have a chance depending on what Harding does.

Roberts is virtually out. They can only get 24 points, but that is unlikely based on their next opponent.

Hey Harry, Carp isn't who you think he is...he doesn't play for MAS...he just loves the team.

You're absolutely right about one thing though, the games between ROBERTS and MAS are always fun.

Have fun Tuesday. Although, it'll probably be rained out!

With the Harding loss on Monday night, Roberts Group is still alive. They're deep in a coma, but they're still alive.

They need a win against MAS tonight, followed by 2 more losses by Harding. Stranger things have happened.

If you compare 2011 to 2012 you see some interesting facts. Kelsey’s (# 1 seed), Summit (#3 seed), Roberts (#4 seed) and Jakes (#10 seed) will be participating in the cream of the crap round. In contrast Harding (#18 seed), Duchess (#17 seed), Arms (#15 seed) and Active (#11 seed) are playing in the championship round. You can derive many questions from the above facts. The most fascinating one is what happened to number 1, 3 and 4? Amazing season!

Nobody predicated the Duchess to win in 2012, which is the ironic part of this whole tread.

Any team can win it. It whomever can put it all together in playoff weekend. I remember reading a post earlier this year that said, "have you ever looked at the picture of the duchess photo hanging in the Arms and wonder how?".
Where is that rookie? How is his team doing?

2013 is easy...
- top 4 are set
- bottom 2 are set

The other 12 can be any team. This is going to be a interesting few week as most teams play their final 6 or 7 games.
