| Ran into instance in game this past weekend. Just wanted to post to avoid future Larry vs Jim type confrontations.
The situation was that pass play resulted in 50TH. The penalty rule was defense pass interference. One person was saying that you decline the penalty and take the catch and the other stated that it is a 50 yard penalty. In reading the chart, it states with dagger (2): If the result indicates that the pass was complete, use that yardage figure as the spot of interference. If the result of the play indicates a TD, then the interference happened in the end zone. Place the ball on the 1 yard line (first down). The Defensive Pass Interference penalty negates any completion on the results boards.

| I believe that the coach still has an opportunity to decline it and take the reception on the basis that its a spot of reference to where the catch was made because it was completed if it was incomplete it would of read incomplete then you roll the dice if the yardage ended up being enough to get into the end zone after the formula to get the yardage of the foul since it was incomplete it would be placed on the 1 yard line. That's how I interpret the ruling

| I think that rule needs to be looked at. In some cases you will throw a pass and it will be an INCTH. If it comes up where it is pass interference on the Defense, then its obvious the receiver never caught the football. In my opinion if you would have something like a 50TH and its pass interference on the Defense, you (like matt said) should be allowed to decline the penalty and take the 50 yd catch. I do see in the NFL where a Defensive guy is called for PI, but its declined by the offense because the receiver was still able to make the catch. I think the whole time I've been playing this game I have been taking or giving the yardage instead of saying its a 50 yd penalty. Its one of apba's weird rules where they are considering that a spot foul. It's stupid in my opinion.

| Not sure why it is a big deal. It is just telling you WHERE the INT occurred. In any case, the end result is the same except on TD plays. Are you guys that wrapped into your stats? Guess you are all fighting Larry for the title of the league Pete Carroll

| Joey and I had 2 new and similiar situations occur that need to be clarified. 1st was for an int return. Result was tdtk and the penalty result was holding. Where is ball place in terms of interception spot? In this case the interception result is 3 yds deep in end zone. Holding call on penalty board says to move ball ahead 15 yards and then enforce penalty FOR KICKOFF ONLY. The 2nd is similiar it was for safety kick with penalty result.
