| Tiger took a bad drop and gained an unfair advantage. He subgsequently signed an incorrect scorecard. Therefore he should have been disqualified. Instead, they assessed, Tiger, a 2 stroke penalty.
Seriously?? They gave a 14 year old kid in grade 8 a 1-stroke penalty for slow play...a wrong decision, in my opinion...But, rules are rules...unless we say differently! Both these decisions hurt the game of golf.
They COULDN'T disqualify him...it would have been a nightmare. It was the wrong decision, for all the wrong reasons.
Meanwhile, Tiger has an opportunity to undo all the bad press that he has received in the past 4 years.
ALL he has to do is, disqualify himself, withdraw from the tournament, citing the right rules and standing up for the game of golf, and respect of the rules. Definitely a hard thing to do.
This is the right thing for him to do. It is brilliant from a PR point of view and the best way to show the world that he has changed his ways. This is how he can make the best of this ridiculously bad situation.
Talk about a catch 22, though-he can't win, in this case. If, he wins the tournament, The Haters will call it tainted and there will forever be an asterisk on his legacy.
Stay tuned...The Masters is always the best, for many reasons. This year, it's the year of THE WRONG RULINGS...

| Tiger Woods DQ'ing himself would be stupid... the rule was made for this exact situation, so get over it. We lost in the playoffs thanks to bad pkwy and calls and we got over it.

| When you are great the rest of the field likes to challange you by imposing penalties hence the dinger rule.
