| 2012 NSIBL Hall of Fame Inductees
Dave MacLeod
Player-Look up leader in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Dave MacLeod wearing his Amherst Dooly’s baseball hat. Dave joined his home town team after two successful seasons playing for cross county rivals, the Maccan Royals. During his tenure with the Royals they had two runners up NSIBL seasons and one BNS title. Upon returning to Amherst, Dave became the team captain and leader both on and off the field, often taking the time to talk to younger players and helping them succeed. His leadership was on display predominately during Amherst’s Nova Scotia and Atlantic title seasons in 2002 and 2005. Dave played 9 seasons in the NSIBL amassing a sterling record of over 400 at bats, nearly 100 runs scored and a solid 0.304 lifetime batting average. Dave was a class act respected by teammates and opponents alike.

Dwayne Russell
Player-Dwayne Russell was part of the original expansion Albions in 2000. He had 10 successful seasons with the Albions, mainly as a pitcher. Dwayne kept batters off balance with a baffling array of special pitches and pinpoint control. Dwayne was a warrior who could be counted on to answer the bell for his team mates against any team and in any situation. Dwayne amassed a record of 46 wins, 25 losses and 6 saves. He pitched 513 innings compiling an ERA of 3.58 while striking out 326 batters and only walking 80. Dwayne was a versatile player who could swing the bat with authority and racked up a lifetime batting average of 0.299.

Shawn Woodworth
Player, coach, builder-Shawn “Woody” Woodworth was the leading force in bringing the Bridgewater Bulldogs into the NSIBL in 2007. From the very start they were a team to be feared. Woodworth worked tirelessly to organize a contending team, coached with style, had a strong understanding of the game and played with a strong bat and fire. He took great pride in having his team complete the schedule year after year. A leading voice in NSIBL meetings, Shawn always put the good of the game above all else and holds a respected voice in the baseball community.
Despite his great success as a coach and builder, it was Shawn’s play that garnered him the greatest respect. An above average hitter, fielder and competitor he had a career batting average above O.440 and knocked in more than 100 runs. In the middle of the vaunted Bulldog lineup Shawn was the kingpin in an offence that won over 80 games and one Nova Scotia Intermediate “AAA” baseball championship.
