| This is the new proposed format, which would make the seeded week actually mean something, instead of just another week to get 2 more regular season games.
The seeded week (7/14) would technically be week 1 of the playoffs. And the format would go like this.
Teams will be sent into groups of 4, according to their records, and will play each other this way:
Group 1:
1 seed vs 16 seed
8 seed vs 9 seed
2 winners play
2 losers play
Group 2:
2 vs 15
7 vs 10
2 winners play
2 losers play
Group 3:
3 vs 14
6 vs 11
2 winners play
2 losers play
Group 4:
4 vs 13
5 vs 12
2 winners play
2 losers play
The four undefeated teams from each group, would then get the 1st round bye the next week.
The four winless teams from each group, would then go to the 4 team consolation tourney and not qualify for the main tourney.
The 1-1 teams would then be seeded 5-12 according to their records.
July 21st (day 2 of playoffs)
July 28th (championship day of playoffs)
**** It's either this format or a 3GG tournament that goes 3 weeks, starts on 7/20 and ends on 8/4.

| Agreed. I originally asked about dropping the bottom two teams from each division for the playoffs. But that is probably not a good idea considering the season is almost over. This way all 16 teams qualify. The format kinda reminds me of the ncaa baseball tournament.

| The format is a good idea, why wasn't this brought up at any league meeting, rather than a few weeks before playoffs start? If I wasn't on a team set to make these playoffs or the other, I'd be a bit peeved. Being on a team in years past that wouldn't have made these playoffs under this proposed format might have given me motivation to find another league. If we want this league to continue to run smoothly in the future (and have teams), we cannot be changing format mid season to suit our feelings at the time.
