| Jeff Taylor Webber never responds to emails, scheduler took forever to come out, umpires chosen suck ass, then the whole mess with divisions. Ya know think about this, 27 teams paying $450 for a total of $12,150! Thats how much us teams payed for ORGANIZED ball! this is anything but organized. And dont give me this shit that its for the fields or the Umps cause NEITHER cost that much 10 times over!!!!!!Lets be real this shit they call a league could be funded for a quarter of that. Somebody is taking your money and laughing all the way to the bank. Dont believe me, ask for they expense report. Bet you will NOT get it! I have ran leagues at Delta Park, church leagues, Eastmoreland park and many more. With $12,150 we could have played for 3 years same amount of teams. Crooks

| How about all the money going to the shirts for the winners of the tournament? Our team won last year and we STILL have not received our shirts. Where is all this money and effort? Oh yeah.... And our shirts???!!!!!

| So I have been on the board on more then one league, was actually President of one, and I don't ever recall the President allowed complete control of finances. Actually the President or Vice President couldn't be the treasurer either and in this league he is. In all the leagues I've been in there had to be two authorizing officers before finances could be removed from the bank. Oh yeah and at every league meeting there was a treasures report.
I am going to call the City and see about how much it costs to rent he fields for the season and see about how much umps cost by calling so friends I know. All this to see what the deal is and maybe start discounted league next year. With not only tshirt but trophies

| Look if you don't like it, leave. Nobody will complain about your absence.
But lets get to the point about pricing. If you think it costs so little, I please beg you to start your own league for less. Maybe you will get everyone to leave this league and come running to you.
But if you really want to find out about what the league dues go towards then ask. But understand that you need to get the facts strait before you go on a message board and scream that you have the answer.
Now these are estimates, but I think I have fairly good knowledge of these costs.
Umpires: $30-50 per game
(5-6 games per day x 3 fields a week)
Field Use: $10-20 per hour field use
(7 1/2 - 9 hours use x 3 fields)
Softballs: $45-70 per dozen
(usually half-dozen of mens and womens are used each day at each field x 12 weeks plus tournament)
Tournament: ??? Not sure of costs, obviously shirts, which I don't have a response for your issues of not getting them on time or at all?
Extras: This could be anything that may need to be addressed like bases, plugs, field maintenance, unexpected things...
Paid Time/Labor: Should they not take any money at all to run the league?
Just some things to think about...start adding that up. I think you'll find that people aren't pocketing thousands of dollars and going to the casino or driving a new car.

| As far as I know it is a non profit league so no there should be no pay. It is a volunteer Board not a job. Either way there is an accountability issue that needs to be handled. With the repairs of the fields that is split between all the leagues that play on the fields.

| So I did research online and here are facts:
ASA standard for Oregon slow pitch umpires is $20/gm total for season is $3240
Balls for the entire year $1760(depending on where you buy them)
Tualatin Fields cost $20 for every 2 hours rented plus $15/hr light fee. On Cities Website. Total for season minus tourney $2200
Score Books $200
T-Shirts (estimate) $1000
Total Cost $7400.
There can be a little difference in a couple umps out there because of time being in the league but that doesn't account for $5100. The fields could use some play ball for wet weather, new bases for worn out ones, and some other items.
This concern is more about accountability then anything else. Trust me if I have to reserve the fields next year and cause there to be no league because I believe there needs to be accountability then I will pay the money to just to prove a point. I know of more than one person who has emailed the league President with concerns and has gotten no response. People always say that "if you want to complain then maybe you should step up and help" well I have and get no response from anyone. My biggest pet peeve is when people complain but so nothing about it. Well with all the complaints I've seen this year I am going to take some sort of action.

| well said pac 12! Accountability to my fees is all I want, along with my shirts for our team we were promised and never got so take that out your budget! And as far as Mikey this is a message board where you right messages, Thats what its for! If you dont like it dont read it! | Well I can reply to Pac12...I do not disagree with making things clear to the captains or anyone who may have a question about the finances or meetings. You have a valid argument and I don't think anyone with a reasonable mind would argue that point.
Mr. Meat...you've lost it and I don't think anyone wants to deal with you. My only advice would be to leave the league next year. You obviously hate it and can't stand the way things are run. So go to a new league and tell everyone you know NOT to join our league. I don't think the people who've played in this league for years would miss you much.
If you're not willing to listen to people, or you're not going to make an attempt in a semi-calm manner to ask for information nobody is going to deal with you. There's a reason why parents don't deal with a screaming 2-yr old. They tell them to go to their room and calm down or don't come out.

| So I will tell you all I'm sorry that I went off a little bit but I really do just want se accountability. I really like playing in this league because it is so relaxed and for the most part really fun. Accountability is good though.

| The reality behind this league, is that it isn't a well oiled machine. I think we proved that with the scheduling debacle this year. Nobody involved was happy with the process, or the delay. There are however things that make this league great. The good has historically outweighed the bad... which is why we have about 30 teams EVERY year.
I've been on the "board" for the last 5 years or so... and playing in the league since 1994... so I think I have a decent perspective on TACSL.
A previous post was requesting info on how to join the board. I posted my phone number and offered to walk you through my take on the intricacies of the league, and how to become more involved. I didn't get one phone call.
Rather than continuing to complain anonymously, why don't you call me or any of the other board members for an adult conversation. Our numbers are posted on the website.
