| I can say for the game we had to cancel a few weeks ago it was a last minute knowledge on my end. Since we are a company team I personally speak face-to-face with each player and ask if they are in or out. Our policy is that if you say yes you better show up...if you can't I don't ask questions, but it better be for a reason that breaks that commitment! On the Friday before Father's Day I had my entire roster of 14 (that's all I have left, we started with 19 and told 5 people they are out since they never bothered to say if they were in or out), and at 12:30 on Sunday we had everyone still. By 1:30 I heard from 3 that they couldn't make it. Then by 2:00 another 4 were out and boom my team was screwed with a 3:30 game looming! Immediately I called the other captain...which I know wasn't happy, and the called the hotline to alert whomever it may be that we were out. Trust me...the 7 people on my team were pissed at the other players for screwing them. I guess not all situations are created equal, but I totally support some sort of fine or warning to go out. Maybe its a 3 strikes and you're out...maybe a letter goes out and states something about the rules for forfeits, then a small fine, then on the 3rd offense you're team is out of the league?
Again, with our situation I know it was last minute and we basically screwed the other team. But I would have expected some sort of warning, we are adults and if you mess up it has a consequence. I don't know, just a thought.
