If you are going to tell the girls on your team to not swing and not hit the ball then inform the other team before they show up to PLAY softball. Realize that you are playing in a C league, there are a very few girls that can hit, and its not enjoyable to show up to a game on Saturday when half of the players aren't going to participate. It's a waste of our time. If you want to go play mens, then there are teams out there for you, but please stop wasting our time and realize that you are playing CO-ED C LEAGUE!!

I could be wrong here but I believe that one of the fundamentals of the sport of softball is to swing at only strikes. I might be telling all my team mates the wrong information if that's not how the game is played. I heard alot of blame towards my team beacuase of your loss. Play the game with pride and try to fix whatever is wrong as a team. Our team is comunicating and taking help from one another to improve, no reason to shoot us down because that day we ended up the better team. I was the pitcher for our team and had zero walks, because i was pitching well. We didnt win thay game because our girls snd guys got walked.

As a Baseball Coach you would correct to tell your team to swing at strikes however in slowpitch softball especially in the Northwest without the black mat behind home balls and strikes become more judgement than anything. There really is no clear definition. In this league the ceiling is suppose to be 6' on the low end and I've have strikes called on me where the ball didn't go higher than my shoulders, I am 6'1", so I didn't swing because I considered it a ball but it was a strike. I always taught my players to swing at anything close because you never know where the umps strike zone is. It's all subject. Even in the majors it's subject. Just look at the K-zone. As for walking wining the game it is possible for that to happen because you slow the pace of the game. Less at bats for both teams. Just my opinion as an old Coach.

As a female player I resent your comment. My team always encourages me to take my time, watch the ball and swing away. I have made a great improvement this year and don't appreciate comments from a sore loser. If you can't handle a loss then you are the one wasting our time.

A good coach has confidence in all his players no matter the skill level. Swing away females if you like the pitch!

So if your pitcher was actually pitching in the strike zone....then you would have a valid point. But since he was pitching balls 5 feet away from the plate.....then yes the girls arent going to swing... We beat u by 18 points...be an adult and accept responsibility. Your team only scored 7 points so obviously you guys need to work on your offense as well and make the game enjoyable for other teams competing against u.

I posted my reply in the wrong area and started a new subject. I didn't know the situation as I didn't play for either team. Sorry for offending anyone. If you read the other post you will see my complete answer.

As one of those female batters you are so nicely talking about. I have NO problem getting up there and swinging away. I actually nailed one out in left field AND I did get walked. Not by choice mind you, more because every pitch I got then next time up to bat was way off, I would have had to jump across the plate to hit it the ball.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a beer league? Aren't we supposed to be having fun? Win or lose! I don't think it's necessary to beat the crap out of other people on a message board. We all have off games and ya just have to deal with it and better yourselves from mistakes made. Good grief. Get over it and move on!!!
