| It is ALWAYS a great night on Cook Field up on the hill when you send the Blackhawks back home defeated, but even better when it is done in a leave no doubt fashion. After the emotional roller coaster of the week, it was so refreshing to see the Rams get out there and just play football. Let's start with the obvious, our skill players are just better than theirs, and really that played out many times last night. Our speed was obviously a factor, as was our effort for the majority of the game. Their running back did a nice job in the first half of gaining yardage, however in the second half he found running lanes were disappearing and found out what it was like to be peppered by the Rams defense. There were a lot of big hits last night, but I want to single out Evan Jones for having several that I remember right off the top of my head, of the pop and stand up a running back variety. Overall, it was just a very good effort for the Rams on the field.
The other factor on Friday night was the emotional one. You could almost feel the rejuvenation of the players, the coaching staff, and the crowd from the word go of the night. There were some areas that still need improving, however you could also tell the whole Purple and Gold side of the field last night was having fun and enjoying just being there for a football game. Paoli Football has turned into something the community can be proud of, and it has turned into a Family for the community to embrace as well. The most poignant moment of the night for me was watching Coach B, after the handshake and his Rams in a huddle in the middle of the field with the other coaches, running down the field to the North end zone to hug Mrs. B. That moment summed up the whole night, and put an exclamation point on the 55-7 whipping the Rams had just delivered! In conclusion, after a week of emotions, injury, sickness and uncertainty, watching the Rams demolish the Hawks was very rewarding! Now for a great week of preparation and on to Perry to claim another PLAC conference game! Go Rams!
