I'm awful confused and I'm hoping that the "powers that be" (Lynette ~ HELP!! LOL!!!!) might be able to help:

So we have the Merrimack Valley Competition. The OOA has been published and from what I can tell, it encompasses all of Eastern Mass's teams. Only the top 2 teams will move on - no qualifying scores a.k.a. invites.

My question is: Who will those who move on to Eastern Mass then compete against?

If you look at the topic "New Rule Changes" and read through, you will see that Lynette never says that only the top two teams are moving on. She states that once the trophies (1 per level) are awarded, they will then announce the other teams that are moving on. She then says that the number of teams moving on will be decided once they know how many teams they are dealing with.

Thanks CheerMom! That helps!! I'd been verbally hearing that only the top 2 teams would move on from MV - that makes perfect sense now!

Thanks for answering me!

You're welcome. I hear all kinds of things too but I remembered reading her answer to how that was going to work so I went back and looked again. From what I understand, we won't even KNOW who the second place team is. Only first and then the "moving on"s.

Just so we are clear. It is not the MVL Competition. The competition's being held on the 5th and 12th are all the leagues, and they compete against everyone. There is no more Top 2 from the MVL, GBL, NSL, or ML.

Lynette,
Can you please tell us how many are moving on from Lawrence per division and level.

The way I understand it, Emass will determine a minimum score. Any team that makes that minimum score will move on to Lowell, regardless of size or league. So for example, it could be that there are no Large squads in Lowell if the large squads do not score high enough in Lawrence. Once in Lowell, then you compete against size in your level.

Do we know yet what the minimum score is??

Can someone please clarify how the teams will be moving on from the competitions on October 5th and 12th? I know that each squad (i.e. midget, jr. midget etc.) will compete against each other by level and not size. Is it still going to be broken up by division when moving on is decided? Sorry if this is confusing:-) I'm a little confused myself. lol

So then what is the difference between the comps on the 5th or 12th and the one on the 26th?

The only difference is that there will be Level champs on the 5th and 12th. Anything can change in 2 weeks, so the Top 2 teams on the 5th and 12th could change on the 26th.

Lynette so does that mean that the top 2 in each division, level and size move on.
