Last night was the 1st game I have attended. Congrats on the victory. But there was a few things I noticed or observed. I was bored to death watching this team. I believe we average taking 9.5 seconds every time to get the ball cross the half court line. It was like watching golf on TV. From where I was setting, I heard no talking on defense at all. There are I believe 7 or 8 seniors on this team, someone has to lead for them to be as good as they can be. The talent no doubt is there. I just happened to be lucky enough that several coaches from other teams sat right behind me to scout. And I'm telling the truth, there was times they were laughing at our defensive stances and how easy it was to get the ball in the lane. More than once I heard this from them, and they were spot on. There was about 2 guys, that when they were on the floor, looked as if they were going as hard as they could. That will not get it done against a better team.
Now to the positive. I did not see any selfishness, forced or bad shots. And for the most part, we rebounded the ball well considering we were playing zone. I hate to rant after only seeing 1 game, but I really believe this team has the talent to be pretty good, I just hope they figure out a way to achieve it. Good luck Friday night.

I have to agree that our defense was a little suspect last night. Way too may drives to the paint from their guards, but with the pace of the game, I feel coach Cole knew it could come down to the fouls. For some reason, Lanesville could not make a trip down the floor without hacking us. They could not guard our ball handlers without leaning on them. Perhaps knowing a lot of fouls were being called made our team a little to apprehensive on the defensive end.

I was a little shocked that Lanesville refused to adjust defensively despite the foul trouble. Most of the fouls were legitimate as well. Stroud would dribble down the floor, and almost every time the defender had to have his body on him. I am sorry, but that is not defense, that is not moving your feet.

Offensively, we shot the ball well despite the lack of three pointers, and we owned the rebounding as we should have. We will keep pounding the ball inside because that is where the high percentage shots are and that is where you will draw the fouls. Very solid and wise game plan especially with the size we have.

Now I am ready for Austin. go Rams!

Oh The Rams will be fine it's still early in the season we don't need a John Wall or Ty Lawson (current NBA player not the Paoli Junior high player) or a Derrick Rose or if you wanna go back in the day a Earl "The Pearl" Monroe or Nate "Tiny" Archibald who all of the player mentioned could could fly down the court with the ball and on defense we aren't the Detroit Bad Boy Pistons yet but we will get there still early in the season just have to have patients I'm going to wait until The Rams the team that plays the "40 Minutes Of Hell Defense" team known as Brownstown... my first thing I wanna see this season is Paoli beating Orleans by 25 points then a sectional championship... should be a fun year as A Rams fan
