I am truly embarrassed by the way this league is run. We need to take a look at who is responsible for setting the schedules for the girls softball and figure out if they are capable of handling the responsibility. With only three days to opening day, parents have no idea when their child is playing or if their child even has a game. when can we expect to see the eschedules posted. Hopefully not saturday morning.

i completely agree. my husband is a coach for 2 teams this year and it is totally embarrassing when i can't tell the parents when to expect to play on opening day. People have plans for spring break and other sports and children that need to be taking care of. they never should of had such a late registration. it threw everything back

I'm responsible for the schedules. Fact is girls teams were just formed last week and we're still adding kids to teams because we NEVER tell kids they can't play as the Rec dept did and as some other organizations do. Whether they are boys or girls. If you don't like that reply, call me at 732- 619 -8630 and I will be happy to discuss with you. Otherwise, put your money where your mouths are and offer to help. Your registration fee entitles your child to play. PERIOD. Keep your nasty opinions to your personal facebook pages, and off the public forum, especially if you aren't brave enough to put your name. Because , honestly, no one else cares. If you knew what the volunteers of this league did for your kids and 800 others maybe you would have a little more patience and understanding. And ENOUGH with the boys vs girls already. Jackson Township isn't taking softball back. And 300 other families are happy they arent. Get on board and enjoy it. Your complaints are old news. GOD Forbid you had an idea to make things better, but its always easier to complain. THATS the real embarrassment.

Even though some of you are frustrated I think its great that Holbrook will never turn away a child, late registration or otherwise. If it means waiting to get a schedule late and having all kids who want to play included, them I am fine with that. When opening day starts this is the most beautifully looking, well run little league with volunteers that are extremely dedicated and work very hard to give our kids the best experience possible. Have patience & DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.

I may not have the knowledge or experience being on the board, organizing teams, coaching, etc. but I understand both sides of the argument. I have 2 boys in the league, 4th season overall. Unfortunately, waiting for schedules has become a norm, and yes, it does suck. However, I think it's great what's provided for the boys (and girls) and the renovations for the complex came out great (a bigger parking lot would have been awesome too, just saying). I did hear that part of the reason why schedules take long is so coaches don't have conflicts when coaching 2 teams. If this is true, I'd recommend you limit coaches to 1 team only, they do this for football, it can be done here. My boys are in different divisions, no one's considering their schedules, if they have games at the same time or if I have to magically split myself in 2, and I'm okay with that. It is difficult to plan ahead when schedules don't come out on time. This past fall season, the schedule didn't come out until AFTER opening day and we received noticed via text with less than 24 hours notice at 1 time. Another recommendation, and agreed that hostility should be minimized, but understanding should be shared with EVERYONE too, INCLUDING the board. This is not the first time I've read a board member snap back at parents on here. I find it disgusting. We're paying for our children to play and have fun, that's correct. No parents to pay, no kids to play, no league. I don't know if there are other options for our kids, but to talk to people this way, is pathetic. There's signs on the field fences stating they're just kids, we shouldn't yell/scream/make fun of. Think we should heed our own advice when it comes to the message board too.

Stacy,

no board member will ever come on here lambasting anyone. The only time you see a board member post like this is when the criticism of the league comes out from the few who are not happy unless they are complaining. Just like if there are no kids or parents paying there is no league, if there are no board members to run and operate the league there is no league for your child to play in. I love watching all the bashers come out of the woodwork with their complaints, but never do anything to help. Running this league is a year round commitment by the 21 members of the board who shoulder a majority of the workload and responsibility. This is not a job and sometimes the complaints get old. Anyone has the opportunity to come to board meetings, join the board or even just volunteer more then the 4 hours of workbond each season they are required to complete. And there are many poeplewho do that, so thank you to those who do. Many of the board members have multiple tasks because there are not enough other volunteers to take on the load. So yes, do we sometimes get defensive when others come on here to complain about the way we do things. We don't want recognition, We don't need a pat on the back,we do it because we love it and we do it for all the kids in the league, but we also don't want to read the anonymous complaints on the forum from people who do nothing other then complain. When you get a response back that you (or whoever) don't like, sorry. But if you attack us, we have the right to respond. What Salvatore wrote was just that, an attack on the league and the 21 board members who make it possible for the 800 children to play. And once everything is ironed out, whether its two weeks before the season or 2 days after the season starts, we have one of the best little leagues around. Like Anthony said, DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!!
