| Strong teams like the Duchess and Mas will only get stronger with these picks. My sources tell me some prominent names are joining the league.

| After suffering a devastating loss in the finals last year the Markham Duchess boys need to re-tool. They need to improve in the middle of the infield and get better pitching. They might make a big splash. One of many teams that need major help.

| Very astute comment Kavman! Teams that lose in the finals often are in big trouble the next year ! I think many others will agree with you in saying the Duchess is in big trouble! (lol)!

| Clown statements bro, an exceptional squad like Duchess will be very strong again this year. They are simply too good, we may be talking dynasty for the next few years.

| Now that the Plumbers are officially done, the a draft has numerous possibilities. Where are they going is an intriguing question.

| The plumbers only ever had one good player and he departed a number years ago, no one of substance remaining to draft. It is unfortunate for the guys left behind.

| A team that folds speaks to the realization of bad draft picks over the years. The Plumbers seem to have a bunch of good fellas but lacked something over the past years. It is sad. One history book closes and a new stronger squad will emerge.

| On Saturday the chatter was all about the new additions that will enhance one of the top teams. A big stud is leaving one top team and going to another. Very interesting.

| The purpose of the exemption pick should not be used to poach players from others teams. I hope this was not allowed by the executive as the goal is to increase our player numbers, not reconfigure players to other teams.
The league has the A draft for players that wish to relocate to another team and they know that they have to take their chances in the draft order. Yes, they may not go to the team of their choice, they take their chances.
We're not an open league. This is a rec league. The York league is an open league if you wish to submit a team with all your buddies.

| Yo, sometimes I worry that I'm a sociopath then I'm like oh I'm just tired of trying to get good players to join my team. How do get a stud when they play in other leagues ?

| I'll tell you exactly Jamie, since you like stirring the pot on this forum... through the draft and an exemption pick. Never took players from or approached players to leave their current team.
I was the only 1 who left my team.

| The reason behind creating the exemption pick in 2011 was due to the fact that a team was disbanding and that created stress on our draft availability numbers. Not enough players were registered to try out to fill the void so the executive allowed each team to bring a player/friend automatically on to their team.
It is meant to bring in new players to the league and add to our numbers, not re-arrange our players, take players off other teams, make them weaker, and make strong teams stronger.
Guys who come from disbanded teams are ok to be picked up as exemption picks as they no longer have a team.
Surprised the executive is allowing this to happen.

| Ask not what your team needs in the draft. Ask what your team does NOT need. This should have been the basic mythology of most teams going into the draft. Looking at some of the picks that did not happen.

| In fact Chris, stirring the pot is not my intention at all - you should know how much I hate it that guys can even post on this forum without attaching their names. I'm just calling like I see it. I get your point about bringing in new guys, compared to taking them from existing ones. That was not what I was accusing you of doing. I was simply stating that your comment that this isn't an "open league" is also suspect given the number of guys you brought in that year that were outside of the normal league boundaries. In my opinion that's just as bad as what you're saying.
