| The decision has been made and Texas Youth Baseball Association will host a fall select baseball league for ages 9U-14U. Season will start September 13 and go for 8 weeks including two tournaments. Teams would play weekend DHs and have access to practice fields for those that sign up early. Team registration is available now and using the Central Texas Select Baseball website until TBYA has completed their new website.
A new 501c(3) non-profit organization is being created to grow youth baseball and softball. Texas Baseball Youth Association (TBYA) is in the process of forming and will work jointly with the city of Killeen to build on the collective vision for increased participation through quality instruction and play. CTSB, Killeen Rebels Baseball, other select teams, high school coaches, and others are working to support this transition. The organization is finalizing the details and will be creating an inclusive structure with the formation of a Board of Directors. We will use this website until they are operational. TBYA is looking for parent volunteers who want to lead this effort and assist in building a strong program. CTSB will place an initial list of volunteer opportunities beginning this fall as TBYA begins their preparation for fall 2014 and their 2015 spring/summer season.
Additionally, a spring select league would be a very exciting new addition to area baseball allowing area players and team to increase the level of competition playing approximately 3 games a week. League play would be March - May for about 10 weeks. League spaces would be competitive in the spring with approximately 6 teams per age group.
Teams that play in the fall 2014 league will have priority for spring/summer participation.
This is a great opportunity to build competitive leagues in the Tri-County area.
