USSSA has only posted the dates for one World Series event so far. The problem is that many people are needing to schedule vacations with their companies, and others could possible have scheduling conflicts. USSSA is not helping the matter by not providing any further information even though it has been requested.

Therefore, the Razorback organization is trying to get some feedback from players and parents regarding this dilemma to help make a positive decision. We would like to keep as many teams together as possible during events like these, but realistically it would appear that only the 2 18u teams (White/Red) will be able to accomplish that goal.

The World Series in Orlando, Florida is the only event that has been given a date - the week of July 11, 2015. Last year, the date was the 3rd-4th week of July.

We are guessing that Kansas City will be either the same week, or the week following. However, it could be 2 weeks later ... who knows at this time besides USSSA and they aren't talking.

Projected costs would have Orlando being more expensive than KC in multiple financial areas, but there is also not as much tourist stuff to do in KC. A big one is that costs inside of the ESPN/Disney complex costs are crazy expensive ... like $5.00 for a hot dog.

The approximate drive time to either location is about the same: 14-16 hours.

Also, KC has actual softball complexes to play in, whereas in Florida at ESPN/Disney most of the games are played on baseball/softball fields with grass infields.

There are also a couple updates about the National World Series in Florida that we've learned. Compared to the 2013 Series, USSSA had many fewer teams for the 2014 Series. They also dropped the points regulations for the Series meaning that any team in that class can register for the 2015 event and play in it.

The early date for Florida means that some of the tournaments we were going to play in prior to the Florida World Series will be canceled, and we finish the 2015 season playing in a couple following the World Series.

Any and all input/opinions are welcome, but understand that because of the lack of USSSA information, things could possibly change in the future. Also, because of the amount of people involved, please know that we will consider everyone's opinion, but realistically when the decision is made it will be what is best for the program as a single entity.
