| The two big rule changes and modifications will be implemented this season.
1. Extending the ball will no longer be allowed. The ball will be placed at the tag and not where the ball is at the time of the tag.
2. To protect the QB, and limit hits, and injuries, the roughing the passer rule will also include a rusher who leaves the ground to block a pass, and as a result crashes into the QB will result in a roughing penalty. However, not all situations are exactly the same and will be determined by the officials if an infraction is warranted.
