I'm sure you all seen or heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge that went viral last year for ALS awareness.
One of our players, Scott Dash, has recently been diagnosed with ALS and fighting it. He has a wonderful supporting wife Kelly and they have two daughters together, 11 and 15 years old.
Scott felt symptoms early 2015 but it didn't stop his from recording 40+ inning and working his full time job until November 2015.
Scott played in "A" division Brampton rec league for 20+ years and won multiple titles. His father Dave Dash was a big part of Brampton baseball and was such a well respected man they named a field in memory of him. Dave Dash Park in Brampton.

In 2014 season, Scott pitched a total of 119 inning combined in both leagues. He pitched 43 inning, went 4-4 on the mound and hit .315 in a Giants jerseys. Pitched 76 inning in Brampton, 24 were in playoffs.
In 2015 he went 3-2 on the mound in 30+ inning for the Giants but did not get a hit in over 20 at-bats.
Starting in the NDBL sparked a new interest for Scott in baseball, having new competition to face from the mound.
Our first ever game as the Giants, Scott was able to beat the Brewers in a CG 3-2 W on the mound. Although we followed up with a 1-11-1 record haha, that game let us know what we were capable of. We have all looked up to Scott on the field since that day. He will still be on the team with us, but now on the coaching side.

A fundraiser poker tourney has been set up to help with him and his family at this time.
