Wilkinson Cardinals Baseball For over 25 years, our baseball and life skills academy has been recognized nationally and internationally for the quality of instruction, coaching and mentoring young athletes. Those athletes have responded by winning personally and at every level of play. Having moved from the Seattle area to Texas just two years ago, we have established ourselves not only as an outstanding teaching academy, but also as a producer of quality teams and quality team play throughout the state and country.
Coaches: Pete Wilkinson has coached for over 40 years from the Little League age groups to international Olympic Team Development, from Little Leaguers to Major Leaguers. His teams have won State Championships in summer ball and high school ball. The American Baseball Coaches Association’s monthly publication, Collegiate Baseball News, recognized Pete as the national Teaching Professional of the Year for 2011.
Matt Burke, well known throughout the region for the high quality of his teaching, has coached successful age group teams and developed young players as a hobby for many years. He played his college baseball at the University of Oklahoma and played in the College World Series in Omaha.
Bret Elliott has been a successful coach in several organizations in Central Texas for the past 10+ years. His dedication to teaching and coaching has made him popular and respected among players, parents, and other coaches. He has also directed our teams program since its inception.
Conor McCarthy played college baseball in New England at Bryant University. He has certifications in multiple levels of fitness and functional strength development, and he worked with Tom House and the National Pitching Association and Rod Dedeaux Research and Baseball Institute at the University of Southern California. This past summer, he joined Bobby Valentine in coaching a select 15U group on an East Coast tournament tour.
