I heard there were two players who were in the A draft that didn't get on a team because of the exemption rule this year. One of the players is Killer. How is that fair, I understand you want to stack your team(s) but it seems like certain people who run this league only care about winning. Gonzo, you run this league so I'm calling you out for an answer. what's going on bud? And how come killer and the other player don't have a team to play on? You should fix this asap so these guys aren't left in the dark and can play in our league this year.

The question that needs to answered first is

Why is he not on your team this year ?

Good deflection, but players have the right to switch teams on the own free will. That doesn't answer the question on how A draft players didn't find a team to play on. Nice try though deflecting the topic.

I agree with Haddy.

This league has become all about getting people from other league who are "great" ball players instead of finding close friends/family members to play. The league has always instilled the rule of all A draft players will have a place to play the following year. If a team like DST doesn't honour this rule, then this league in my opinion just hit the shits.

As for butter nuts comments about Killer, why don't you ask him yourself? He decided to leave the team on his own, knowing that he will still be in the league by entering as a A draft player.

Do the right thing DST and draft the guy, that's the rules.

Oh, and don't worry Killer will entire the A draft the follow year as no one wants to play on DST. LOL

Group "A" Draft – Every member has the right to transfer from the team he played for during the previous League season and to enter the Group “A” Draft. Any player wishing to do so must notify the Corporation of his decision to enter the Group “A” Draft two weeks prior to the commencement of the Player Draft. Any player wishing to enter the Group “A” Draft must participate in a minimum of one pre-draft tryout, unless exempted by the Directors. Should he fail to participate in a tryout, he will be allocated to the Group “B” Draft. Each team will draft players in ascending order (in accordance with the team’s position in the League standings at the conclusion of the previous regular League season) from the Group "A" Draft players, but will have the option to pass, provided however that in no case shall a higher team be permitted to pass if its position as a team in the draft order is equal to or less than the number of players remaining in the Group “A” Draft. Any Group “A” Draft player refusing to play for a team to which he has been drafted will be allocated to the Group "B" Draft group of players and if not drafted, or drafted by a team to which he refuses to play, will relinquish his membership in the League and his membership fee will be forfeited.

If a team has added more than two exemptions this year they should be shamed for not picking an A Draft player Teams need to balanced so they are fun competitive games for all to play. this not a professional league or even a tournament. it's a league for the community to play together.

Hey, I just wanted to clear some things up. I decided to leave the Arms in the fall and submitted my registration with intentions of entering the A draft for this season. I was informed several weeks ago that the Executive decided to cancel the A and B draft and allow teams to recruit whoever they want. By the time I was made aware of this decision, most teams had already filled their rosters. I understand that the league is having difficulty recruiting local players and had to take drastic measures. What is difficult to understand is how existing players that selected an option the league has been provided for the 10 years that I have been playing, weren't taken care of.
I have been in contact with the league and am still hopeful things will work out. My question is why didn't the league make sure that A draft players had a team before opening up the rosters to outside players? Or at least give A draft players some time to find a team before the decision was made final.

BH18 should be automatically placed on the team that would have drafted last the A draft!!!!!!!

only to be fair, that's what would have happened

easy solution to a draft
picks 1-16 pass
with the 17th and 2nd last pick of the A draft unionville arms select Ernesto
with the 18 and last pick of the A draft DST select Dave aka Killer

and both teams play with 16 this year til a solution can be made by exec next year concerning a draft

I spoke with David Gilmore last night a player who had been in the league for 10 years. He said that he followed the league rules by joining the A draft to change teams. But the league still hasn't found him a team to play on. He said that the league was pushing him to play in the masters. How does this make any sense. The league was saying that we are hard up for players but can't even take care of there current members. Guys won't want to enter the A draft next year if they think they will get kicked out of the league or will get pushed to the masters even if they don't want to go. This could create more of an issue and players might just go to other leagues. I hate to see this league fold because of 1 poor management board decision. I really hope the league steps up and finds David a team to play on.

I agree 100% with Chris. We can debate the circumstances of why Killer left The Arms all day long, but what really matters is that he entered the A draft guaranteed by the league he would find a spot and was then denied that when the solution is remarkably simple.

The fact that the best teams in the league would rather get even better than honour commitments made to players who have been in this league for a considerable amount of time is quite frankly ridiculous. We've already had to break the divisions in two because some teams are far more concerned with winning than anything else - which I'm fine with - but I'm NOT fine with it if it costs existing members their spot in the league.

I don't know who the last teams to pick in the A draft were but whoever they were should be forced to pick these players up and roll with 16. It's not rocket science.

All I can say is that I'm super proud to be a part of a very classy Kelsey's team. Good on you BJ and ChrisZ for doing the right thing. Our team will play with 16 guys this year, and we're going to have fun doing it. #Killer

Kudos to Kelsey's for picking up an 'A' draft player. I'm still curious to know why DST didn't follow the 'A' draft rules. Is this going to be left alone or addressed?

I remember when this league was focused on sportsmanship and enjoyment. If you want to know why you're having recent issues attracting B draft players, take a look at what you've turned the league into.
