| I agree with the previous two comments and don't quite understand the rational for the split in the B Division. I heard tell, and don't know how factual it is, that the reason for such was to protect the "less skilled" players, and/or the"over the hill" gang, from injury. If this is the case how are these players protected during the nine months of pick-up play?
It doesn't matter if this is the sole reason, or not, as this decision, in my opinion, was a "solution in search of a problem", with the end result being that the majority of B 2s are left with a considerably less competitive field to the benefit of the 50 or so players in the new B Division.

| As a JSSA board member representing the B, or Super Senior Division, I voted against splitting the league, because I thought it was a bad idea. And I share the sentiments expressed by others who are opposed. However, I am playing and managing a team in the Super Senior II division because I love softball. When a majority of the board approved the change this past summer it was my understanding that it was just for this winter and if there were problems they could be fixed. or the league could revert to the original structure the next time around. That continues to be my position and I invite players who have opinions on this issue to put them in writing to members of the JSSA board. I welcome all comments. My e-mail is duckviller1@aol.com.
