I had someone ask a question about rules changes in each division. (It seems people like to make changes and even post them based on whims?)

I just wanted to bring up that any rules changes must be posted 2 days before taking effect AFTER THEY ARE REVIEWED BY THE ASSOCIATIONS DIRECTORS.

2.1.A. determine rules specific to the Division, have them reviewed by the Associations Directors and post them.

1. Once posted, any new rule or changes to the original rule will be posted for a two day period before coming into effect

The Super Senior Committee ran their changes by me and I did not see any problems with them Of course the three Executive Board members can discuss and make changes if they disagree however I think the changes will be found to be logical and reasonable and to contribute to the general benefit of the group. Also, the rule changes were posted via email to all Super Senior players well in advance of the changes.

section 1.6 under unified rules and league rules :
"At the beginning of each league play season each league shall develop their own playing rules in addition to the uniform rules. These league rules will be reviewed by the Associations Directors and posted before becoming effective."

These rules were posted and developed "at the beginning of each league lay season. " or were rules modified as the season was played.

It also states these league rules will be reviewed by the association directors( notice plural) before becoming effective.

The purpose of this was so a small group of individuals could NOT come up with rule changes the entire group did not like. It was in place to encourage discussion AMONG THE PLAYERS before large changes were made. This was written at the request of Super Senior division players who were tired of individuals changing rules on a whim or ignoring rules they did not like.

As an example section 8.1 of the by-laws is ignored at the whim of the super senior division.

John I Agree that any rule changes should be based on what the majority of players in the division support. I am confident the Super Senior Committee does a great job in carefully assessing any proposed rule changes to make sure that is the case. I think the Bylaws need some changes to better reflect practical solutions that benefit the league. That is on the agenda for the next Board.

The direct question to try to reduce your wiggle room : The rules state these issues must be discussed and approved BEFORE going into affect. It is your belief that the bylaws need to be changed but they have not been yet. Why are the by laws that currently govern the league being arbitrarily ignored?

Section 8.1 of the By Laws is being ignored and it has been brought to the attention of the board. Why is this intentional ignoring of a by law allow to happen?

I guess the best answer to your question is that they decided to act rather than wait until the next board meeting to because the issue required it. This is not the UN. It’s a senior softball league

So people can do whatever they want and violate rules with no repercussions, as long as the right people believe its ok?

Also not addressing the ignoring of rule 8.1? Again, if the right people believe it should be ignored, you just ignore it?

I believe YOU said that organizations had to have rules that need to be followed. Or is it only rules that specific people write that need to be followed, not the rules that exist.

I agree , Its senior softball, not the UN and certainly should not be a Kangaroo court.
