| Gerry Elias' death this week was a shock. He has been a stalwart of Jupiter Senior Softball and a friend to all. Gerry kept a 25-year history book of the senior softball program from its inception. And he donated a large American flag to the JSSA that serves as a beautiful patriotic display for the various holiday observances we hold at the ball field. I will remember Gerry as kind, generous and smart. He had a long career as a researcher for the U.S. Navy and taught mathematics and tutored at the college level. He was a regular at the after-game social gatherings at Dunkin Donuts and is missed greatly. I extend my sincere condolences to his wife Mariette and family.
