The following message is issued by the North Dufferin Baseball League Executive upon learning of the death of Bailey Durocher.

“The Executive of the North Dufferin Baseball League was saddened to hear of the tragic traffic accident that claimed the life of Bailey Durocher on June 17 at the age of 24.

“Bailey first played with the Collingwood Jays junior team in 2014. He later joined the Mansfield Cubs junior team in 2016. An all-round player and competitor, he had the most home runs and was named the most valuable player and most sportsmanlike player in the 2016 season. After a few seasons away he began playing with the Owen Sound Baysox this year in the senior division.

“Bailey was always friendly and a respected player who loved baseball.

“On behalf of the league, we extend our sincere condolences to his teammates, friends and family.”

Bailey Durocher
August 2, 1997 - June 17, 2022


As the result of a collision while riding his motorcycle, Bailey Hunter Durocher of Kemble, was taken too soon on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 24.


Loving son of Troy and Christina Durocher of Kemble. Dear brother of Harley Durocher of Windsor. Cherished grandson of Pépé Raymond and Mémé Louisette Durocher of LaSalle, Nonna Silvana Schincariol of Windsor and the late Nonno Giuseppe Schincariol. Bailey will be dearly missed and forever loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is now reunited with his loving canine companion Remi.


Bailey was the adventurous type who especially loved hunting and baseball. He was kind, caring and touched the lives of all who knew him in a positive way.


Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250-14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, June 23rd from 12 &ndash 4 p.m. and 7 &ndash 9 p.m. Bailey&rsquos funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, June 24th at 3 p.m., followed by a reception at Troy and Christina&rsquos. The service will be livestreamed via the funeral home website.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Owen Sound Minor Baseball would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to Bailey&rsquos family by visiting his online memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
