"The Executive of the North Dufferin Baseball League wishes to extend sincere condolences to the Elliott family upon the passing of Monty Elliott of Ivy.

"Monty played with the Ivy Leafs in the South Simcoe Baseball League and would later join the Dufferin-Simcoe Rockers Oldtimers team.

"Monty also spent time umpiring for the Leafs in the NDBL and in his retirement years was a constant figure down the right field line at the Ivy ball park, with his friendly heckles to players and umpires during many a ball game.

“Our sympathies to his wife Judi, daughter Diana, and daughter in-law Susan and the entire Elliott clan on their loss.”

Details: Monty “Muzz” Elliott, passed away suddenly on July 20th, 2022 at the age of 77 at his lifelong home, “the farm”.
Born in Barrie, on September 12, 1944, to the late Willson and Gladys Elliott. Muzz leaves behind his wife Judi, daughter Diana, daughter in-law Susan, grandchildren: Payton, Kenzie, Brady and Cameron, and has joined his beloved son Mark on the back 9 for a long-awaited round of golf.
He is also survived by his sisters: Valerie (Norm), Donna, Mill (Doug predeceased), Doris (Bob) and Grace and brothers: Allen (Cathy), Earl (Pat), Gord (Shirley) and Wayne (Donna predecease). He will be fondly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
Visitation will be held at the Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie, on Sunday, July 24th from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm –9pm. With a Celebration of Life at Adams Funeral Home on Monday, July 25th at 11am. Interment at Thornton Union Cemetery. Afterwards the family welcomes all to join them at The Farm for refreshments, food and Monty Moments.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either Diabetes Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.
