| Some teams are recreational by skill, and some play at B to D levels. That makes it intriguing and extraordinary to play from night to night. Have a great season all.

| When playing in this league. We will step on the field knowing that every team we’re going against will respect us if we get the W or the L. If you play for the first time you will witness a new whole new level of quality you probably hadn’t seen.

| Last year was the first year I played in the league and we had an enormous amount of fun just interacting with people. And then you go home and nurse your muscles or whatever you want to do, but it is, I think, a huge thing with all the mental illness across the country, that you get out socially and interact.

| Have you been to the Louvre in Paris and seen the Mona Lisa? Did you think she was smiling? Or not? Leonardo Da Vinci achieved the ambiguity of her smile using sfumato, blurred lines, around her face. Every time you look at her, you can see a different expression.
The uncertainty of the Mona Lisa is like deciding if to play again this year. Every day there seems to be a different decision in my mind. This uncertainty makes it difficult to focus on what really matters for me and my teammates. The big draw is the league and the professionalism that it represents. Brilliant!

| I am a good hitter, I play catch eh 1st or pitch. My team is not playing this year, so I am wanting to get some swings in. Everything I have been told, this is a superior league.

| How many times have I heard this, "Slowpitch is a hitter's game. But defence wins championships!" At the outset, that seems like a contradiction. And so, when a great coach tells me, "Defense wins championships." I like to ask, "What kind of stats do you keep?" If a book is kept accurately, most of the time I see offensive stats. I rarely see a book with defensive stats. If a team captain truly cares about defense, why are they only keeping offensive stats? What are they doing with the .720 OBP player, who makes 5 errors, 6 missed cutoffs, and allows 5 resulting runs? Well, I start by saying....if you care...how do you even know if you don't have the stats?
What say you, the experts of Slowpitch? Which is more important for a winning team? Offense? Defense? Or is it, "Offense gets you far and is a must, but defense wins championships?

| Every lost out (including walks) turns into runs. If you are a great hitting team, you might be able to give away a little, but that is not a successful strategy.

| I’m a firm believer in offence wins you games and defence wins you championships. Teams need both. Having some bounces go your way, an umpire call or two go your way and plain ole Lady Luck doesn’t hurt.

| The best a hitter can do in one at bat is a grand slam home run for FOUR runs, and that depends on his teammates getting the bases loaded for him. BUT, ONE good defensive play at the right time can stop a FIVE-run inning (or SEVEN-run inning). I work on my defense as much as my offense because of this. I have played on a couple of incredibly strong offensive teams that lost games because we COULD NOT OUTHIT OUR OWN DEFENSE.

| I can't wait to see my ball friends again! It feels like it's been ages since we've hung out together. There's just something special about spending time with people you care about, laughing and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Whether we go win or lose, or just hang out, I know it's going to be an amazing time. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful teammates on my team.

| You’d think people would be able to aim to hit the balls around you.
I’ve learned most ground balls or low hits in Slo Pitch as just miss hits, but they’re still missiles. Jump jump.
