Flames (3-5) vs Stars (3-4-1) Flames lead season series 1-0

Ross and Flemming do the scoring for the Flames with single assists to Dempsey, Kerr, Murphy and Taylor. It surprises me to see Kerr with just a goal and an assist, seems he is involved in a scoring opportunity every time I watch the Flames. Guy looks like he did 15 years ago when he was fighting for scoring titles. The Flames go 0 for October, let’s hope November is more generous. The Stars grind out a nice win and break their 4 game losing streak, saving them from an 0’fer as well. Haverstock and MacIsaac get paired together with Corky to from a new top line and they both get a goal and an apple. Giles snipes one and single assists go to Ryan and Redden. For those interested Corkill is selling squares for a $2000 prize. Is Paul allowed out this week Debbra? The third line needs him. Tough call here as Burgess lit up his old team last time but the Stars have a new power line of there own. Perry coaches this Friday, Burgess doesn’t. That is the deciding factor, unless Havey goes off.

Flames 3 – Stars 2

Wolfpack (4-2-2) vs Jets (4-4) Wolfpack lead season series 1-0

McNeil and Fougere scored the goals for the Wolfpack then McNeil got booted and Fougere tried his hardest but ran out of time. Baxter and Pecarski each added assists. Jets manage no goals and no assists. Look for a low scoring affair with the Pack trying to intimidate the Jets.

Wolfpack 4 – Jets 3

Lions (5-2-1) vs Oilers (5-2-1) Oilers lead season series 1-0

I don’t want to say the Lions were a two man show but between Munden and Glazebrook they had 4 goals and 5 assists. After the game Munden’s dad took them to DQ for a Blizzard where they all discussed Desi’s goals. Glazebrook is always humble and lets Desi go on. They had that magic back for at least the night this week, can they keep it coming? Tracey scored the other Lions goal and assists went to MacDonald and Hartnett. Darryl Cameron returned to the HRHL, his first game since his lengthy suspension and started up right where he left off with a shut out for the Oilers. He claims he is retiring with a 0.00 GAA for the season but keep trying to call him if you are in need of a tendy. Veinot scored 2, Bent and Turple each had 1 and 1, Webber had 2 helpers and singles went to Gallant and Flemming. Last time these two teams met it was a lopsided Oilers victory but the Lions have been hot as of late and the Prodigy seems to be back in much better health that he was oh those 5 weeks ago. Should be a close battle between the league’s co-leaders.

Oilers 5 – Lions 0

Side Notes:

No power I the Cove this morning, had to write this out with a quill and feather. That is why we are short on content here, ran out of ink.

An election is called in NS less than a month before it takes place. I like it, too much election bullshit with the long calls.

Good Luck Bray

JL Highschool games Tuesday at 6pm, Spryfield Lions Arena, great crowds, not the best hockey but a great atmosphere. If you are off work early the girls play at 4 as well. Am I allowed to call them girls. Are they all girls, who do the non-gendered play for?

This week’s fundraiser is through Grease for Chebucto U15A, Ingraham is also selling tickets on a PS5 for $5.

Timmy Hartnett, you spoke too soon.

Great to see a new author join the fray, and he is good at it. Where have you been hiding all these years?

Daylight Savings Time wraps up this week, so stupid. Bray get this changed when you become the PM.

While we are at it can you get rid of the Monarchy. I didn’t love the Queen but she was an old bat that seemed alright but this crew now, holy fuck. I want to say something about the group of them being inbred but it is a trigger word so…

Just to give you an idea how unpredictable the league is this year, our pool leader has 12 points, same time Last year Pecarski and Real Deal had 17, 22 guys had more than the 12 that leads right now.

That is the way I like it.

Last week before Skinny, Longo and I head to Nashville, anyone need cowboy boots?

This one is for Happy Parsons, Colorado is 6-2, Travis Hunter is third in Heisman odds. Shedeur has throw for almost 2600 yards with 21 TD’s and 6 ints. Deion is doing something right.

Deion looks 20 years older than he is with that beard, why would you keep it? Parsons maybe you can answer that, you have the same beard.

Played the Penn Hills Tough Guys Tournament this week, that is one long course from the blacks.

Tough week for the Leafs, sky is falling boys. Love it. Only thing I like more is how bad the Pats are. Yes, I am a hater. Actually it fills me with joy to listen to how bad Tom Brady is at his new gig. Go be an owner and let Olsen have his job back.

I do not get asked to select shit that is a light post, just get asked if I am a robot. Do robots have to admit they are robots?

What a weekend.
Lions get redemption after a Flames beatdown last round.
Cole Caufield keeps scoring goals.
The Commanders took a shit on the Bears.
Ok, I will admit I turned the game off after Bears went up 15-12. Two minutes later my phone blew up with texts. People I haven't heard from in years. Been tough being a Washington fan. The best part besides the walk off hail mary was #29 on the Bears taunting the crowd while the play was happening. He then tipped the ball right into the receivers hands. Can't make this shit up.

Jayden Daniels for OROY and MVP. What you think Tony? Keep the hoody streak going.

Wait, which Ingraham is selling the PS5 tickets? I would trust one of them. You can speculate who.

Aaron Judge has been dogshit in the World Series. Half Canadian Freddie Freeman hits a dinger every game? I hate both teams but that is impressive.

Every time I see Webber he's skinnier. What's the secret? Asking for a friend...

League is super toight this year. Teams moving up and down the standings every other week. Top two clash this week. As Bob nicely put it, last meeting was lopsided. It was definetely a shit kicking. I think Young Bent had 5 goals in one shift. Which brought me to a nice round minus 8 for the night. Looking for a different result this week.

Grease made 59 saves last week. We're some lucky to have a good goalie.

I needed Saquon to get a TD for me to win on Bet365. He made it to the 1 yard line. Then the damn tush push took it away from me.

Gerard you need to get some Make NS Affordable Again hats on the go. Sto get on that.

Timmy I hope there is some skeleton bones chips left over this week.

Week Numero Nine.

Let’s look at team leaders in the standard stats this week. On, as they say, to the games…

Flames (3-5-0 6 points -5 6th place)
vs
Stars (3-4-1 7 points -3 5th place)

It’s a battle of the basement here in the Week 9 early game, as the two HRHL squads on the outside looking in playoff-wise look to claw their way back into contention. The league is tight this year, for sure, but teams need to ensure they don’t put themselves in a position to have to go on an all-world heater in the new year just to make the dance.

The Red Hots are led in goals (7), assists (6), and points (13) by rookie phenom Flemming, but the kid is a game time decision based on a lower body injury. PIM-wise, there are a slew of fellas tied at 2 PIM for the Beer-Shins. As far as goaltending goes, for better or worse Robinson has appeared in all 8 Flames games so far and therefore leads the team in games played (8), wins (3), and GAA (3.25).

Les Etoiles goals (5) and points (13) leader is all-pro Haverstock, though team talisman Timmy Ryan leads the club in assists (6). Haverstock also leads the TNTs with 12 PIM, though Goaler Glenn is not far behind with 10 PIM of his own. Wee Ingraham leads the Stars in goalie games played (6) and wins (3), but super-sub Findlay has a slight edge in GAA (3.00).

Flames 4 – Stars 3

Wolfpack (4-2-2 10 points +3 3rd place)
vs
Jets (4-4-0 8 points -5 4th place)

The sandwich skate sees two squads currently mired in the mushy middle of the standings battle to elevate themselves. It’s third versus fourth at 9:00pm.

Fougere and Baxter co-lead the Pack with 10 points each as of now, though Ballsy leads the team in assists (8). Big Ingraham and Fougere are tied for the team lead in goals for the boys in green, with 5 each. Team co-GM McNeil leads as far as PIM goes, with a solid 18 on the year after a big week in that department last week. Logan has played every minute for the Wolfpack this year and therefore leads the team in games (8), wins (4), and GAA (2.62).

For the Jets, living legend and HRHL all-time leading scorer Ritcey leads the team in total points (9), but he shares the team lead in goals with rookie phenom Proctor (4 a piece). Proctor also shares the team lead in PIM (6) with Messervey. A resurgent Parsons leads the Supersonics with 6 assists. Though the Jets have used three different goalers so far this year (Theuerkauf, Logan, and Findlay), Dewie leads the squad in games played (6), wins (4), GAA (2.33), and shutouts (1).

Jets 4 – Wolfpack 3

Lions (5-2-1 11 points +13 1st place TIE)
vs
Oilers (5-2-1 11 points -3 1st place TIE)

Despite his wonky back, Desi leads the HartCats in goals (8) and total points (14), though he shares the honour of most assists (6) with Real Deal McNeil and Glazebrook as of now. Co-GM Marty paces the Pride with 6 PIM at present. Between the pipes, Grease leads the boys in black in games played (7), wins (5), and GAA (3.43).

Veinot leads Skinner’s Winners (and the entire league) in goals (9), assists (10), and total points (19), though D-Man Clevelend has the team lead in PIM at 6. As far as tendies go, the Orange have used a league-high four different guys at the back, with Theuerkauf leading in games played (5) and wins), while super-sub Cameron paces the group (and the entire league) in GAA (0.00). That also means he leads the team in shutouts (1).

Lions 4 – Oilers 3

Weekly 3 stars……the big boys came to play edition

3. Turple, 1 goal and 1 assist for the leagues reigning top defence man. Ever since joining our 45+ team dynasty this player has embraced winning and become an offensive threat every shift he’s out. It’s gonna take a Herculean effort to knock this guy from the Norris trophy .

2. Macissac , 1 goal 1 assists in the stars win over the first place Pack. The speed demon was feeling the need for speed the last few weeks and he cranked her up last week. This player is a relentless forechecker and back checker and provides a huge speed burst to the stars in their climb from the basement .

-Munden and glaze-brook, life partners had a game last week.
Munden ( I may never walk straight again ) sure looked fine to me scoring 3 setting up 2 in the win. Never in the conversation for the leagues top defensive player he sure is for top offensive guy , he’s on a heater
Glazebrook scores 1 adds 4 assists in the lions win. This guy is the greatest set up man in HRHL history and did his job last week for the lions
A first ballot HoFer for sure
Jerry Treadwell was threading the needle last week f more then a sweat shop worker for NIKE

I think only thing they all agree on is weee sick down the middle.

- Desi and Jared were heard singing the bill medley, Jennifer Warren dirty dancing classic I’ve had the time of my life in the shower .
together after exploding last week

- meanwhile in packs shower Josh was in time out for his violent out burst. Eddie loofaed his back for him.

- after extreme more then words can say song, I thought they’d be stars. Couldn’t name another song by them.

- stars needed a win over first place pack

- Darryl Cameron posts a shutout in first game in years. Guys a great pinch hitter

- the jets are this years riddle wrapped in an enigma in hell. Don’t know wtf you getting

- Nico hischer leads Nylander in goals, alright who predicted this?

- Ovi ripped two bombs home the other night, playa can still snipe

- Mackinnon is picking right up where he left off last year.

- Hartnett hoping the posting camp. As a long time poster you’ll find some weeks the shit just pops in your head, other weeks it’s a struggle . You may have saved the discussion board so well done

Timmy, sorry to hear about your mangled foot. The best part about this league is that we are very inclusive. To make sure you don't feel left out after injury , the league has decided to move you up to the 2nd round to keep your confidence up. No need to thank us.

Goal Caufield scores again. 10 goals. Looking like a young Ryan Veinot on Halifax Hawks Bantam AAA. " VEINOT IS A MAGICIAN"

Man the years fly by. Was just a short 17 years ago I joined this league. Only guys I knew then were Longo and Chappy. Looked back and found some interesting stats.

2009 season:

Top 3 scorers
Glazebrook
Ritcey
Messervey
You may ask " Hey Tim who was 5th in goals with 18 that year?" It was yours truly. How? 17 tap ins and 1 clapper. Played with Glazebrook and Mike Fisher. I don't think I have totaled 18 goals in the following 15 years combined after.

Panthers were 21-2-2.
Who backstopped them that year? Your friendly neighborhood author Matt Robinson. Stacked team must have won the championship right? NOPE. Lost in the 3rd game of the final at Spryfield to Bob, Wayne and the Wolfpack. The late Blaine Pelrine shut the door for them. R.I.P.

Stopped at the bank for some money for tonight. It's all for the kids so doesn't really count as gambling right?

Picks:
Flames vs Stars.
Winner could possibly move into the final playoff spot. I think it's time for Havey to go off.
Stars win 7-4

Wolfpack vs Jets
Close one here. Teddy guaranteed a Pack win so I guess I have to go with them.
Pack win 5-4

LIONS VS orange team
Friendship bracelet line stays hot. Sober November for Tony starts and he pops 2. Everyone gets a point.
LIONS win by a bakers dozen 13-0.

Stars /Flames……. This is a matchup of the leagues two best worst teams. Both are needing wins so it should be a solid affair. I’m liking the Stars to pull this one out 4-2 in the opener. Corkill , Havey , Broght , Ryan are scoring in this one. Glen rock solid 32 saves.
Ps Happy birthday to coach Clark!!!
Slightly seasoned late 40”s?????

Jets/pack …….. two teams coming off losses here and thr jets squeak this one out 3-2. Findlay stars here with 44 saves in this one. Parsons , Scoring sensation proctor and Ritcey bulge the twine here. Croke picks this as he’s the guru .

Lions/oilers …….Lions take this one 4-2 over the lions as Hartnett told me they were winning , that’s how scientific my picks are
White hot Desi 2, Taiani and real deal scores a goal . . The leagues reigning top goalie makes 24 saves in the win . Grease also adds 2 assists on stretch pass bombs to Desi
