Flames (4-8) vs Lions (5-5-2) Season series tied 1-1
Interesting week we have with no ties in the standings for the first time this season. The top two teams face off, 3 vs 4 and the 2 cellar dwellers. First game up we have the two bottom teams. The Flames got their only goal from Chappy with assists going to Kerr and Taylor. This game means more to the Flames than it does to the Lions as a loss would put them a minimum of 5 points out of a playoff spot, as we officially pass the halfway point of the season this week that hole is getting deep. Attendance still seems to be the biggest issue for the Flames with Flemming injured and Cameron missing 3 of the last 4. McNeil and Munden each had a goal and 2 helpers in leading the Lions attack last week. Glazebrook had 1 and 1 and MacDonald had an assist. The Lions have had their fair share of attendance issues as well. Munden, Walshy and Bent have all missed a third of the Lions games and Grease is hard to replace with kijiji goalies. Tough call on this one as we aren’t sure who will show until game time, I am going to go with the rumour mill that still has Flemming out and the Lions picking up a rusty Berrigan to play.
Lions 5 – Flames 3
Wolfpack (7-3-2) vs Stars (7-4-1) Stars lead season series 2-0
When you run a team as long as I ran the Pack it brightens your day when the new regime succeeds. Maybe not as much this week when I played against them but there is still a piece of me that will always be with the Pack. This week Bray and Ingraham led the way with 2 goals and an assist each. Hill had a goal and an assist and now has 5 goals for the season which put him just 1 away from the top scoring D man Turple. Baxter and Fougere each had 2 assists and singles went to Curl and MacEachern. The Pack face the Stars in our 1 versus 2 game this week. Havey led the Stars with a goal and 3 assists and he is now just 1 point out of top spot in the Art Ross race. Corkill had 2 and 1, the newly formed trio of Bright, Longo and Timmy each had a goal and 2 assists, you get that kind of production from your third line and it is no surprise you are fighting for first. MacIsaac had 3 assists, Billard 2 goals, Clark a goal and an assist and Redden had 1 apple. The Stars have handled the Pack twice this year but MacIsaac should be in East Hants with his Blazers unless he can fake being held late at work again. Bray might have some fire in him this week as the stress of running an election campaign will be gone and win or lose at least he will be free of the fight.
Wolfpack 4 – Stars 3
Jets (7-5) vs Oilers (6-5-1) Oilers lead season series 2-0
Our West coast game features the third and fourth place match up. Surprisingly the 4 place Oilers hold a 2-0 series lead on the third place Jets. Messervey led the Jets this week with a goal and 2 helpers, Ritz had 3 apples, single goals went to Holt, Parsons and States, single assists to Duke, MacQueen and Morry. I would like to thank Peter Duke for waiting till 1:18pm Saturday to ask for stat corrections, that is how it should be done, no one gets called out and no one gets woken up at an ungodly hour. LeBlanc led the Oilers with a goal and 2 assists, Veinot had 3 assists, Gallant 2 goals and Coates got his first of the season. Huebert, Turple and Webber each had an assist. Two teams going in different directions here as the Jets have a 2 game win streak and the Oilers have lost 3 in a row. Turns around this week.

| Weekly 3 stars……….
3. Ritcey, 3 assists in the hot jets win last week over the flames . After playing with this guy in the other league you realize how deceptive a playmaker he is. A huge cog in stirring the jets coffee to get them going week in week out. M
2. Bray , 2 goals 1 assists in the packs win over the oilers. This guy got off to a bit of a slow start but has been scorching as of late. The pack get this guy going hot it’s another weapon for the leagues first place club. A two way threat with a great shot is a valuable addition to any team.
1. Bright and Clark
Bright , 1 goal and 2 assists in forming the leagues greatest second line. This player had battled injury bug but is now single and ready to mingle , err is healthy. Finally got off the snide last week but busted out in a big way. A great playmaker with a deft scoring touch provides the stars that secondary scoring all teams need .

- fuck you Liam no I’m not voting NDP.
- congrats to Gerard bray on running a solid campaign. That’s a tough riding to win as that’s where all the socialists live and die NDP
- couple of curses were broke last night on Wednesday night. Glen stopped beardo with a great glove save not allowing him a hattrick.
And boys it’s over skinner scored!!!
Not only once but twice. I mean he could’ve had 9 but at least the curse is over. Watch him on Fridays now

- slavkosky has 1 goal this year and it was pp goal, yikes they thought he’d push for 30 this year.

| Weekly 3 stars……..
1. Clark, 1 goal and 1 assist in the stars big win last week. The five year anniversary of his last goal is Friday night from 2019 pre covid. This player has been rock solid the last 5 games (all wins) for the stars. A solid tough defenceman now adding an offensive flair to his game is a welcome addition for the Stars heading towards the second half .

| Week Thirteen. The ol’ one-three. The baker’s dozen.
We’re just a smidge past the half-way point of the season. Where did the time go? Work was stupid this week, so this’ll be short and to the point.
On, as they say, to the games…
Flames (4-8-0 for 8 points – Sixth Place)
vs
Lions (5-5-2 for 12 points – Fifth Place)
The early game this week pits two venerable franchises at the wrong end of the standings table.
Here’s hoping the Murphys dropkick the the HartCats to the Kerrb.
Flames 4 – Lions 3
Wolfpack (7-3-2 for 16 points – First Place)
vs
Stars (7-4-1 for 15 points – Second Place)
This week’s sandwich skate is a juicy one as two top of the table foes wrestle for playoff – and regular season title – positioning mid-season.
The Stars keep on shooting and leave the Pack howling.

Jets (7-5-0 for 14 points – Third Place)
vs
Oilers (6-5-1 for 13 points – Fourth Place)
Both of these teams have the exact same records that they did this time last year? Weird.
The west-coaster this week sees the Skinners end up winners, and the VeinBros are just a bit too slick for the now grounded Jets.
