The Courier-Journal out of Lousiville, Kentucky recently sat down and talked with Paoli Senior Guard Kreigh Hentrup before his Sectional game against Mitchell and asked a few questions.


Couier-Journal: Do you have any great moments as a player?

Kreigh: A couple, one Freshmen year I got to dress varsity and we won sectional, second Sophomore Year we played Orleans who was 17-0 and ranked #1 in Class A at the time and we beat them in overtime Most recently Senior Night when we beat Crawford County 55-51.

Courier-Journal: Tonight Sectional begins at North Knox how do you figure to fair?

Kreigh: I think we have a good chance last two games we played pretty well and had played pretty well before that we've got a lot of momentum going into sectional since we beat Craford County and North Harrison I think we might do pretty well at Sectional.

Courier-Journal: Coach Sibbitt says you're a "Gym Rat" how much time are you in the gym furing the offseason?

Kreigh: Close to 2 hours a day i'm in the gym everyday of the summer and shoot a lot at home too during the season I shoot around a couple hours after practice usually a couple days a week.

Courier-Journal: Some Small colleges are recruiting you do you plan on playing college ball?

Kreigh: I'm strongly considering playing at St. Francis i've been talking too them pretty much all season and right now they have to be the main one there's been some other small colleges and i've been looking at a lot of them it's somethign i've always wanted to do.

Courier-Journal: What do you plan to major in?

Kreigh: I'm going to major in business because it covers a wide range of things i'd like to manage a business I think.

Courier-Journal: What's it like growing up in Paoli with the shadow of Larry Bird down the road?

Kreigh: In Springs Valley everything is about Larry Bird he's about my parents' age my mom went to Paoli ands seen him play i've seen him but never met him he could play every part of the game well.


Courier-Journal: Was passing the 1,000 point mark a significant accomplishment?

Kreigh: I had always wanted to do that I watched Evan Seacat score his 1,000 point as an 8th grader and I always wanted to score 1,000 points.


Courier-Journal: Do you play other sports?

Kreigh: Yes I have played baseball for 4 years I play shortstop, secondbase and pitcher i'm better defensively than hitting.

Courier-Journal: Do you have any other hobbies?

Kreigh: Hunting and Fishing in the summer I fish a lot i'm either playing basketball or fishing in the summer that's about all I do in the summer I do a lot of bass fishing Last Year I caught a Bass that was a little over Six Pounds I caught one a few years ago that was Nine POunds out of a pay Lake but that's kinda cheating.
