A's Top Mudskippers, 17-6
In a game which featured way too many errors, the A's and Muddskippers played a close ballgame for the first three innings...with the A's holding a 5-4 lead. Over the next four innings, Steve Fleishman, the A's reliever, shutout the Muddskippers on two hits, while the A's were scoring 12 more runs. The Muddskippers got a run in each of the final two frames, as the A's came home with a 17-6 victory.
Jack Charles hit his third homer of the season to ignite the A's attack. Danny Beltran (two doubles and three RBIs), Dennis Clancy (three RBIs) and Fleishman each had three hits on the day, while Scott Kenning was 2-2.
Steve Hinojosa hit an opposite field four-bagger to highlight the Muddskippers' offense.
