Walks and Errors Undo A's
Two evenly matched squads paired up for some Sunday afternoon metal bat 'old guy' baseball. Both teams scored often and early with some nice plays by Jason Dobine at third, for the .45s.
The A's could not consistently throw strikes and when the 45s did put the ball in play the A's kicked it around a bit. Even when they had a runner picked off, it resulted in a run and another runner going first to third.
With the bases loaded and no out in the top of the fifth, Tim 'Woody' Woodward relieved starter Dave Murga and shut the door, yielding two unearned runs over the last four innings.
Phil Sperling continued his torrid hitting, going 3-4 and Mark Freeman played his usual game stealing three bases, scoring three times and driving in two.
Every 45 scored a run, making it a true team win.
