Storm rally to win
The Sox came out hot, scoring 8 runs in the first 3 innings to gain an 8-3 lead, including homeruns by Grizzle and Krass. However, the Storm chipped away at the Sox lead, scoring 6 in the 6th to move ahead 11-8. The Sox wouldn't stop fighting as they managed to tie the game 13-13 after their half of the ninth. In the Storm half, Rick Guardino doubled, and with two out, Dean Hill, playing his last game before moving to Florida, delivered a walk-off single into the 5-6 hole to drive in the winning run. At the plate, Pete Forster (3 doubles), Jimmy Davidson, and Hill led the way with 4 hits apiece. On the mound for the Storm, newcomer Kaz Arakawa pitched a strong 7 2/3 innings, holding the Sox scoreless for 4 innings while the Storm mounted the comeback. Dave Becker relieved and picked up the win, pitching the final 1 1/3 innings.
