Colts Stay Alive

In a "must" win situation, the LA Colt .45s beat the Sherman Oak A's soundly to keep their playoff hopes alive. Solid defense, timely hitting and a
"season's best" effort by 45's starter, Robert Lewis were the order of the day. Glenn Rubin put the dagger in deep, singling in a run in the eighth on a solid liner. Mark "Crash" Freeman sacrificed his body on a couple plays emblematic of the 45s will to win. Jason Dobine had three hits and walk to lead the offensive charge.
The Colts await next week's outcome to see if they make the playoffs. Separated by a game in the standings, the A's face the first place Brewers while the 45s take on the Muddskippers, who beat them last time.
