Sidewinders hold on for victory.
The Crawdads welcome back Joey Mar from the DL, and he does a good job on the hill with a complete game. The 'winders scored with a run in the 3rd. Then the Crawdads took a 4-1 lead in the 4th on a long grand slam to right by Sam Fusaro. The Sidewinders came right back in the bottom of the 4th as Colman Costello singled, Mike Cahill walked and then with 2 outs, Bob Affrunti singled in a run, Beau Burgess (3 hits on the day) doubled in another, and Dave Becker singled in 2 more to give the 'winders the lead. Another clutch 2-out single by Ethan Wolferman in the 5th gave the Sidewinders a 6-4 lead. Sidewinders starter Kaz Arakawa pitched very well, only allowing the 4-run homer in his 6 innings. Sidewinders closer Mike Cahill finished off the last 3 innings, allowing only 1 run and leaving 2 Crawdads on base in the 9th to preserve the victory. Good game by both teams.
