Sidewinders win pitching duel.
The Sidewinders with Kaz Arakawa going 6 brilliant, and Rich Fallat finishing up with 3 strong, shutout the Pirates. The Sidewinders made all the plays in the field, including catcher Casey Matthews who threw out 2 runners trying to steal and picking 1 runner off base. Mike Cahill drove in the only run with one of his 3 hits; which were 1/2 of the hits allowed in a hard luck complete game loss by Pirates pitcher Mike Bodlovich. For the Pirates DJ Chomyk had 3 hits as well. Well played game by two even teams.
