Brewers Comeback In The Ninth, 11-10
The Brewers missed several opportunities, including 12 walks, to catch up with the Royals' tough offense. They finally caught up in the top of the seventh to tie it at 9-9. However, the Royals scored in the bottom of the seventh, and shut the Brewers out in the eighth, to hold a 10-9 lead. But Matt Trites led off the top of the ninth with a homerun to once again tie the game, 10-10. Jim Fier followed with a double, and after a walk and two outs, the Brewers finally got a bit of luck on an error that allowed Fier to score the eventual winning run. In the fourth inning, after six straight Royals hits, the Brew Crew closed the inning with the traditional 7-4-5 triple play. Sam Kason continued his hot hitting with 3 hits and pitched a solid five innings in relief for the win.
