Squires eliminate mistakes, hold off Quakes

The Squires were able to keep their tenuous playoff hopes alive Saturday with a hard-fought win over the Quakes. The Squires jumped out to an early lead, but the Quakes began the march back, only to have defensive lapses end their chances at a comeback. On the other hand, ironically, the Squires were finally able to corral the mental mistakes that have plagued them all season and put together a complete game of solid defense, timely hitting, and fine pitching. This was a true baseball game played by gentlemen of the highest standing. Bruster Sampson lead the charge for the Squires with 3 hits and 2 RBI's.
