Squires Walk Off in Game 2
ONE HELL OF A BALLGAME in the second contest of Squires/Tiburones at Pote Field on Saturday. In full-on BeastMode, Squires ace Scotty Drake scrapped his way to a CG win with the Tiburones applying constant pressure. The classy Tibrones hung in and battled - finally pushing two across in the top of the ninth to take the lead, but some sharp defense from the Squires cut the rally short (the rare 6-2-3 double play; Jon Oller and Steve Snyder flashing the leather). The Ryan Casey - Garrick Sun - Jon Laner line then skated the bottom of the frame with a terrific shift, allowing the Squires to do the walk-off-happy-jump dance. Hats off to both teams for one hell of an effort and one great day of doubleheader baseball .... the LABL was at its absolute best today boys.
