Pirates Get An Ugly W
The Pirates ovecame an 8-4 deficit by putting up an eight spot in the top of sixth, rife with misplayed fly balls and a big bases loaded double by Randy Garza that cleared the bases. Alex Acuna had a nice day at the plate with three hits, three RBI and a couple runs scored.
After relieving in the fourth, Mike Delgado settled down and pitched scoreless ball for the final three frames to notch the W. Pirates defense turned not only two double-plays but also a rare triple-play.
Rick McGaughey pitched well for the Dodgers, but his defense let him down and took the hard luck loss.
