Bandits Edge Sharks in 10!
When's the last time you saw a 1 - 0 game in LABL, much less one that went 10 innings? If you were at Kennedy HS Sunday morning, then you saw the Bandits win it in the 10th after 9 scoreless innings. Pitching was the name of the game as Jeff Gould threw 6 innings of one hit ball before giving way to Jeff Wells who threw the final four and picked up with the win after surrendering only 3 hits. The Sharks Zac Reeder was equally effective for 6 innings keeping the Bandits scoreless along the way. The Sharks threatened to score in the top of the 9th when they put two men on with consecutive singles but got robbed on another hit when Bandit right fielder Sam Hoffmire, made a web gem diving catch to end the inning.
The Bandits won it in the 10th as Gary Faulkes led off with in infield single, and advanced to 3rd on consecutive bunt singles by Garrett Worchell and Jesse Gill. Jeff Gould got the game winning RBI with a walk off base on balls. A great game by both teams and one not likely to be repeated.
