45s Squeak By Lightning
Jon Macks led off the bottom of the ninth, with the score tied, dunking one in between the second baseman and right fielder, stole second and went to third on a throwing error. A couple batters later, Dave Noll drove him in with a ground ball to second and the 45's come up victorious.
The Colts had an 8-3 lead early, but with some sloppy dee, let the Lightning back in the game. It wasn't all gaffes, goofs and boners. The Lightning can hit the ball and they took advantage of said errors, turning the game into a seesaw affair (coincidentally the name of Greg LeMaster's folk duo.)
Robert Lewis was on base all four plate appearances, collecting three hits and finishing the game on the mound strong. With runners at second and third and no out in the ninth and the score tied, he kept the Lightning from scoring somehow and gave his team a chance to win it in the bottom half of the frame. As if his performance was not enough, Robert was "busting" inside as he was playing against his all time fave rocker, Chris Gaines. A bit of trivia, Robert plays bass synth in a tribute band called "Gaines' Addiction."
