Whitaker leads Pirates
Jerry Whitaker tossed a complete game and continued his torrid hitting driving in 4 of the 8 Pirate runs to edge the tough Bandits. Roger Stewart scored 4 runs and stole 3 bases, Jose Pelayo had 3 hits and Rod Arancibia and Jeff Hoff made stellar defensive plays all day on the left side of the Pirate infield for the win. In a losing cause, the Bandits were led by Mike Guise, 3-3 with 1 2B and a BB. Ray Smith was 2-4 with 2 2Bs, and Jeff Wells and Chris Burton each had 2 hits. Mark Gorman had several fantastic defense plays that kept the score close.
