Someone Had To Lose Their 1st Game
Though neither team deserved to lose, the Angels came out on top in this pitcher's duel. The Colts got 1 in the 1st - the Angels got 3 in the 3rd. Other than that - no scoring!
Both Dave Noll and Rick Gari threw great games. A couple of 3rd inning Colt errors gave the Angels their runs. DN never faces more than 4 Angels' batters in any inning, other the 3rd. RG allows only 5 hits and 8 batters over the minimum. In innings 2-7, RG holds the Colts to 2 base runners. A total of 3 walks and 14 hits, for both teams, allows the game to finish in less than 2 1/2 hrs. There were no offensive highlights in this game - this one was all pitchers. The next meeting between these 2 teams should be another great game!
