Colts Hang On
With the bases loaded and two out, the tying run at second, Robert Lewis was able induce a very hard hit grounder to short, truncating the Lightning's rally.
Dave Noll pitched well through five, giving up only one earned run and notches the win. Dave Anderson pitched better than his line indicates, holding the lead until giving way to Lewis who picks up the save.
Herb Weaver got the party started in the first with a smash off the "Galvanized Monster" plating John Scott from first, one of his three runs scored on the day. Weaver came up big again, singling with two outs and an 0-2 count in the fifth, picking up a couple more RBI.
Ron Wells relieved for the Lightning, striking out five in an inning and two thirds.
Overall, a very competitive game, with the Lightning pulling close only to leave 'em loaded in the bottom of the ninth. This team is much better than their record.
