Stallions win by 1 again!
An intense scoreless nail biter until Jerry Whitaker came through with a 2 RBI hit in the 5th for the Pirates. Things got worse for the Stallions 2 hitters later when starter Mario Pena went down on the mound with a sprained ankle, but pitcher Joey Martino was able to step right in and shut it down. The Stallions got their break in the 6th when the top knotch defense of the Pirates slipped and commited 2 errors, setting the stage for slugger Don Kazarinoff to clobber a bases clearing double and a 5 run inning. The power house Pirates determined to win erased it all by knotting it up in the top of the 8th. But the Stallions fallowed up after 2 quick outs when Sean Lane cracked a clean hit and stole 2nd. Then clutch hitter Ryan Flores hit a mighty blast off the fence in left for the game winner, to complete his 4 for 5 day! With the tiing run at 2nd, pitcher Martin Campbell finished it up by striking out the last 2 batters.
